A young girl, around the age of 17, traveled in the forest. She brushed her dark brown, shoulder lengh hair out of her face. She looked around with her sharp, green eyes and kept as alert as possible in the condition she was in.

She was slender and tone. She stood 5'4" and weighed around 120. She wore a white top that had blood on it and had holes and was a bit dirty. She had on a tanish looking pants, that also had blood on them and was dity and had a couple of holes in them.

She carried a wooden bow in her right hand and she had a quiver on her back with only a couple of arrows left.

Canova sad beside a large pipe, which spilled and spat the wastes of the city. The smell was horable, being a mixture of oil and human faeces, but still he sat. With the wind blowing his black hair into tangles, in his hand was a fishing rod. And he stubbornly tugged on the line, waiting for the sun to set.

Jade's breathing starts to grow heavy and her eyes grow heavy and she feels light headed and dizzy. She stops and leans on a tree for support. Her heart starts to race for fear that she's about to pass out.

"Damn..I can't make it like this much longer." She said to herself softly, gasping.

The black waters bubbled and foamed around his little bobber, the waves from the pipe kept it half afloat. The boy had blue eyes, but the veins in them were bloodshot. It was clear by both the way he was sitting and how his hands grasped the wooden rod, that Canova wasnt entirely sober. He swayed in the wind and chewed his bottom lip, with out a word. He didnt so much as dare move his eyes from the bobber, what he hoped to catch only god would know. But the oil-like waters had hyponotized him, and so he didnt move.

Lucky for Jade, the city was too much farther away and she managed to make it to some docks. It was getting late so not many people were out, which wasn't so lucky for Jade. She needed help. She cast her tired, heavy green eyes out in search for someone..anyone. Her eyes widened slightly with hope as she saw a man fishing. She made her way to him, not able to scream. "Hey. Sir. I n-need your help." She said softly as she fell o her knees behind him.

Canova appeared not to hear the girl, his eyes pasted to the churning water. But soon her gasping caught his ears, and forced him to turn his head slightly to eye her from the corner of his glased vision. His crystal blues watched her in a drunken way, but he spoke soon enough, with his words in a monotone. "Whats wrong with you?..." He said, "And why are you covered in blood?" Canova flicked his wrist, sending a reel down the fishing line and making his bobber dance abit.

Jade instantly relized that this man was drunk. She sighed heavily. "Damn. Just my luck." She gasped softly to herself. She rolled her eyes at his questions. They were probably the two most stupid questions he could have asked at the time.

"Your luck sucks." The boy chuckled, "... Are there faires after you?" He asked turning back to the reservoir. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and turning his face upward to the sun. "I hate faires," Canova whispered, " Their always sticken their noses where it dont belong."

Jade layed down behide him and slightly beside him. She breathed heavily and her eyes kept growing heavier and heavier. Jade watched him and listened to him though as she slowly started to pass out. "I'm going to die here...Man, this sucks." She said rather calmly. "You got anything to drink?" She asked, thinking of something like liqiour, even though she was too young to have it.

The boy turned to her, his eyes somewhat suprized. "Drink?" He said, "You like liqiour? I hate the stuff." Canova smiled a crooked smile, "What i got i wont share with you, but show me your wound and for a price ill heal ya."

Jade listened to the guy as she looked at him. "You heal me? And for a price? First, you're drunk buddy. If I'm going to die I'd rather get to live at least a little longer. As for a price? I don't even have anything." She said softly and with a slight chuckle.

"Im not drunk," he laughed, " And your the one who asked for my help, and help isnt free. But if you want to die, fine by me." He pointed a stiff finger to the black waters, "Cuz when you die, ill just push you in there." Canova snapped his rod again, "And you have something to trade, you have lots of things actually. Your just a stupid girl."

Jade listened to the guy and looked down into the waters as he pointed to it. She looked away from it discusted and looked back to him. She was about to tellhim that he wouldn't dare do such a thing, but the way he spoke and just acted made her start to think that he probably really would. "Wait. Okay okay. I'll take help. What do you want in exchange for it?" She asked.

The boy prused his lips in thought, "Well, how about, you be my slave for two days." Canova smiled wickedly at her, "Its only two days, and i bet, in your eyes, your life is worth this deal."

Jade tensed up at his words. She thought about it for awhile and sighed heavily. "Fine." She said. "For two days. That's all!" She said. Two days. What's two days? It won't be hard. It'll be nothing. She thought to herself.

Suddenly the boy stood in a hurry, dropping his rod at his feet. He turned and took a step over the girls body, facing the woods with a smile on his face. "You hear that, you stupid faires." He yelled into the trees, "Shes mine for two days, that means you cant touch her. And if you want to fight about it, you shoud know, Im Canova Frank. A water fairy, a warrior and scout for the queen." When he stopped, the trees seemed to shudder and groan in reply. The wind picked up so fiercely that it looked as if the boy would blow away, but soon it was over and everything returned to a peaceful setting. And with a huff the boy turned back around, and cocked his head to the side. "Like i said," he told the girl, "Im a fairy too, and faires do buisness in blood."

Jade's eyes widened slightly at everything that happened. What in the world have I gotten myself into? She looked up at the boy as everything went back to normal. "In blood? Um..Okay. Whatever." She said, slightly scared at what that was suppose to mean.

"Good," He said, "So hold out your hand." Canova knelt down beside her, and as he did, he reached behind him and pulled out a slender knife. With it he cut into the palm of his other hand, making a large gash that dripped with blood. "Come on," he said, "Your mine remember, do what i say."

Jade listened to him as she watched him kneel down and cut the palm of his hand. She watched the blood appear and start to dip off his hand and she shivered slightly. But Jade had a lot of pride and she had seen worse cuts so she lifted her hand up for him.

Canova tossed the knife and snatched her wrist with his good hand, pulling her up in a flash. As she fell forward he pressed his wounded hand to her belly, where the blood on her clothes seemed to come from. He turned his fingers into claws and painfully pruned her wound, Canova rammed his sharp fingers deep into her injury. And as he did, he used his magic to pull every cell, every tissue back into place. The magic in his blood helped the cells multiply and heal with every agonizing thrust. Untill finally Canova was satisfied and simply let her fall to his feet. "There," he said, "Not even a scar should be left."

Jade blinked as he pulled her up. Too weak to stay standing she started to fall forward towards him. Her eyes widened as she felt his hand press against the wound in her stomach. She whimpered slightly, but soon yelped and screamed as she felt his claws pruned her wound and then his claws ram deep into her wound. Jade thought she was dieing andthat this guy was killing her. When it was all over she fell to his feet, holding her stomach in her arms and curling up in a ball, gasping.

"Aw come on," Canova chucked, kneeling over her. "Quit being such a human." He laughed again, turning a curious eye to where he threw his knife.

Jade started to actually really feel alot better, but the thought of what just happened sent a chill down her spine. She started to slowly sit up and chuckled slightly at his words. "This is the last time I get help from someone I don't know." She said softly to herself, still laughing a little.

He smile at her, but stood up to get his knife. He saw that it was sticking upward from the ground and once he reached it, he pulled it out easily and wiped the blade on his thigh. "Well, come on get up. We dont have all day."

Jade looked at him as he spoke to her and stood up. "Why? Where are we going?" She asked as she grabbed her bow and then looked back up at him. She really did feel so much better. She loved it, but the process to getting this way wasn't fun at all and she still didn't understand everything that was going on, but she did believe that this guy was for sure a fairy and she was interested and curious.

"Just follow, okay?" He snapped at her, "And dont talk unless i tell you to." Canova tucked the knife back into his belt and took a stide away from the pipe and its spewing waters.

Jade rolled her eyes at his words. She watched him tuck his knife away and start to walk. She followed him, looking around at her surroundings, trying to take everything in.

"We'r going to the city," he said without looking at her, "Iv got some errands that need to get done, and i get bored when have to i do them alone. " He started to pick up the pace, and now had a faster beat. "Come on hurry up, im already late."

Jade turned her attention back to him s he spoke and she listened carefully. Jade noticed that he was starting to go faster and right as he told her to hurry up she was already starting to go faster.

They passed tree after tree, leaving the black waters furthure behind them. The smell was changing along with their surroundings, and the air had turned from foul to a mixture of car exhaust and hazel. "Have you every been to the city before, girl?"

Jade shook her head. "Nope." She said as she looked around. She could also smell a difference in the air. It smelt very strange and new to her. She opened her mouth to speak but stopped remembering what he had told her.

"What," The boy asked, stopping in his tracks. "Youv never been to the city? What kind of human are you? Im a ******** fairy and i practically live here." He turned to her, tossing his arms in a suprized guesture.

Jade almost ran into him at his sudden stop. "Did I stutter?" She asked rather defensive. She looked away from him and crossed her arms as she blushed slightly, embarassed and a little angry.

Canova leaned toward her a bit, "Hah.." he chuckled, "So what kind of human are you then?" He had a playful smile on his face, and toyed with her by not removing his gaze.

Jade rolled her eyes. "Geez...Does it really matter? I have'nt ever been to the city. Big deal." Said, wishing he would just staring at her and turn around and start to walk again.

"Aw come on, quit being such a girl." With a shrug he turned back around, "Just answer the question, im trying to be nice to you." Canova was back to a speedy pace, "If you dont want to talk, i could always just rape you and leave your body for the other fairies. Because, you know, it doesnt really matter if your with me or not."

Jade started to follow him and again and glared at him. "You're just going to laugh a me." She said softly. "I ran away from home when I was young. We lived in a small town. I don't remember much, but I just have lived in the forest pretty much all my life." She said simply.

"Oh?" Canova said, "And so just what were those fairies doing, chasing you around and such?" The forest began to thin up, and their hazel smell started to die. The sent of the city began to take over the air, and the forest floor began to turn a brown dieing color.

"Well, actually they never bothered me untill a few months ago." She said as she cast her dark green eyes around. Jade was excited about seeing a city, but she couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable when she saw that the forest was disappearing, dieing, and the smell was vanishing.

"Why?" He asked again, "What happened?" The forest began to turn into a lonesome park and the soon they were following a paved sidewalk.

"To tell you the truth, I'm not too sure." She said. She looked down at the sidewalk as they walked on it, her eyes wide, amazed.

By now Canova had lost interest in her story, and for a while they walked in silence. "Toss your bow in the bushes." He said quickly as they passed a few large heap of leaves. "Other humans will find it weird, and i dont like it when they stare."

Jade stopped at his words. She looked at her bow and then at the bushes and then at him shocked. "What!" She said, not being able to help questioning him. Her bow meant a lot to her. It had save her so many times in the last few months.

A heavy sigh escaped his lips, "Look." He said turning to her again, "Its actually alot safer for you to put it out here, than in a dumpster." Canova shoved his hands in his large pockets, "The city is a busy place, hardly anybody comes out here anyway."

She looked back at her bow and then hesitantly placed it in the bush. She didn't like the idea of not having it with her at all but she decided to take his word about it being safe. She would come back and get it later, when she was done repaying her dept.

Canova smiled at her, "Besides," he chucked turning back around, ".. Ill protect you, you stupid girl."

Jade blinked, suprised at his words. She finally smiled softly though and started following him again thinking about how strange he was.

By now the sidewalk had turned a dark color, and cars could be heard ziping by. The smell was completely different, it was of exhaust and other toxic fumes. All the grass was dead now, and there were bear trees surrounding empty lots. But the boy seemed unbothed and continused to walk till he reached one of the busy streets. He stopped at the foot of a curb and held a hand out to stop the girl also. "These are cars," ha said in a mocking tone, "Dont get hit by one, because i wont save you from these."

Jade looked around with wide eyes as they entered deeper into the city. She flinched at the sounds of many things like the sound of cars honking their horns at random times. The city was amazing but there was something that made her very tense and uneasy about the whole place to. Probably the fact that there was hardly any plants and the plants that the city did have were dead or almost that way. The smell of the place was horrible too and she wondered how anyone could stand it. Jade want paying attetion to where she was going ran into his hand. She jumped back, her heart beating fast, but relaxed as she saw it was only him. She looked at the cars that he spoke of and nodded softly.

Canova glanced at her with a serious look, but a smile began to curl in his lips and suddenly he burst into laugher, almost doubling over. "Haha... I cant believe," His words were cut by his own gasping, ".. cant believe, you dont know anything... ha," Canova was over come by giggles and snorts, ".. Your... your such a stupid girl."

Jade frowned slightly and started to blush deeply with anger and embarassment. "Stut up! Stop laughing and making fun of me you stupid...Fairy!" She yelled, swiping her arm at the air.

Canova dodged her swing easily, "Aw, come on now." He was still caught in a fit of laughter, "Just think about it, your so... " Canova finally stopped laughing and put a finger to his lips, "well, id have to say..." He thought some more, "Well, id have to say... that your a very stupid girl." He laughed again, mimiking her swing.

Jade blocked his swing with her arm and rolled her eyes, still blushing with anger. "You know what. You're right. I'm very stupid. Very stupid for not dieing when I had a chance and following you! I don't even like the city." She said as she looked around a little. "It smells bad." She said crossing her arms.

He quieted at her words, "The smell," he started, "is the last thing you have to worry about in this city." Canova quickly stepped to her, pushing her against a traffic light. "Listen," he whispered into her ear, breathing deeply.

Jade uncrossed her arms and was about to push him away but slowly stopped and let her hands fall back to her sides as she listened. Everything was loud here and at first that's all she could hear, but she started to hear other thing. Humans like her, but they were different. Crazy and evil, though some were good too.

"You stay next to me," he said, "and try to keep your eyes on the floor. Dont talk to the men here, and if anybody asks about your shirt... you show them this." With that, Canova pulled up one hand. It was conveniently clenched with only his middle finger sticking out and up. "This will shut them up, heh. Then your keep walking, you keep following me." He leaned off her now, giving the girl some space. "You got it?"

Jade straightened up and nodded. His seriousness made her quickly decide to listen to him, but she couldn't help but wonder why he liked being here and living here if this place was so bad.

"Good." Canova glanced quickly at the street, the cars had suddenly stopped. And just as suddenly Canova screamed at the top of his lungs taking off across the street, "RUUUUN!" He yelled at the girl, waving his arms in the air as he crossed the street.

Jade flinched and her eyes widened. She quickly took off after him, her heart racing once again. She was really starting to think this place was too crazy for her now.

Reaching the other side Canova turned to see her face pale with fear. He placed his hands on his hips and laughed, "Well, good thing you went fast. I didnt want to see you get hit by a car."

Jade panted softly as she looked up at him. She blushed with anger again. Had he just done that to scare her and get a good laugh again? She rolled her eyes. "Where in the hell are we going?" She asked softly as she looked down when some poeple started to walk by.

"Thats for me to know," Casnova winked at her, "And for you to find out."

Jade glanced back up at him as she heard that the people were gone for the moment. She rolled her eyes again. "Okay. I want to find out fast then so lets get a move on." She said, hoping that wherever they where headed it was somewhere a little quiter.

"Bossy," Canova smiled and again began to pick up his quick pace. They walked down a crowded sidewalk and rounded a building, even passed a few more streets before Canova finally turned into an empty lot.

Jade followed him with her head down. She would glance up every now and then to check where he was. She had a little trouble keeping up with him as they went through the crowd, people yelling, pushing and giving her strange looks. She was tense and found out she had rather cross streets then go through a crowd. As Jade glanced up again and saw that everything was empty she sighed heavily.

"Feel better?" Canova asked mockingly, pushing his face into her line of sight. "You looked a bit tense, so i thought we'd take the back way. Its harder, but you look like a healthy and athletic girl. So it shouldt be a problem for a girl with your kind of.... build."

"What the hell is that suppose to mean!" She yelled at him, blushing again. "Geez...why do you always have to be picking fun at me!" She said as she turned her head to look away from him. She couldn't help but feel better though. She had much rather fo a harder way that didn't have people and cars.

Canova laughed again, "Oh come on," he said, "I do it cuz its fun, besides you take it pretty well. Like an 'ol punching bag."

Jade growled slightly as he kept going and then sighed softly. Maybe she would just start ignoring him.

Canova stayed where he stood, watching her walk away from him with a smile. "Where are you going?" He called out cheerfully, "I thought you didnt know this city."

She threw her hand up in the air as she kept walking. "I don't. But any where has to be better then being with you. You stupid fairy." She said with a smirk, mocking him, decided to see how things went if she played on his level.

With a frown Canova jogged up to her, "That wasnt nice," he said, "Its MR stupid fairy to you." He giggled and chuckled before running off ahead of her. Canova ran up to a fence and climbed up it, hand over foot, looking quite like a cat as he did.

Jade couldn't help but laugh a little as he managed to get the best of her again. She watched him then started to climb the fence. The fence was no problem for her and she managed it easily, but maybe not as gracefully as he had.

Reaching the top, Canova placed his feet parrallel to each other and soon was balanced perfectly atop the fence. His feet were amazingly still, even if the girl was raddling the chains by climbing up herself. "This," he said threw pinched lips, "Is a fairy trick, bet you cant stand like this." Canova hopped a bit, but landed with grace and didnt even sway.

Jade couldn't help but be impressed with him. She rolled her eyes and tried to pretend she wasn't though. "Yeah whatever." She begun, "I got over the fence, didn't I? Is'nt that good enough for you?" She finished.

Canova grinned at her, "I suppose." He said, and jumped down to the ground. His landing was just as beautiful, he hit the ground hard, but his knees bent to absorb the impact and the fall actually seemed softer than it was. He stood quickly and shrugged at the girl, "I got over the fence." He chirped.

She looked at him after he had mocked her. She grinned. "Haha...Very funny." She said sarcastically and looked away from him and started to walk off again, shaking her head slightly.

Again he stood there calling after her, "Well atleast you'v loosened up, you were such a bore before."

"I had to do something. You were giving me the worst head ach." She joked as she continued walking. "So how far till I get to find out where we are going?" She asked.

"Actually," he called to her, "Your going the wrong way." Canova held a slender finger to an, almost invisable, gap in the buildings. It was about 2 feet wide and as dark as night, but Canova walked up to the evil looking hole like it was nothing. "Its threw here." He said over his shoulder as he put a foot in the cavity, "Watch your step, its a couple of inches lower." And with that, Canova dissapeared within the gloom.

Jade blushed and stopped. She turned around and looked at him. She blinked and then nodded softly before she started to walk there. She looked in, unable to see anything. She did'nt like the fact that she couldn't seen even one thing. She sighed deeply and then walked in, watching her step like he told her. She put her hands on the walls beside her as she walk. She shivered slightly at the eerie feeling and coldness.

In the obscure light Canova used his voice to guide the girl, "Okay, so we'r here." He whispered, "Now you just stand there and look cute, dont say a word. You only answer to me okay? No matter what they say."

Jade was incredibly confused. Who was he talking about she wondered but she nodded softly. "You got it boss." She said and leaned against the wall as she looked around with her wide, bright, green eyes.

A light began to show at the end of their tunnel, "And remember, you stand behind me. BEHIND. Your eyes are to the floor, and you dont say a word." He turned quickly, "This is very important." he hissed.

She followed him as she listened to him. She nodded softly and could see some light up ahead. She almost ran into him as he turned around and she flinched as he hissed. "Okay..Okay...I understand." She whispered softly.

"You better, because im not up to fighting these fairies." Canova stepped into the light, he called out even before he had completely emerged from the darkness. "Alright," He yelled, "Im here, What do you want me to deliver? And make it quick iv got company." Canova thrusted his chin toward the girl.

Jade's eyes widened at what he said. So they're faries! She thought to herself as she started to follow him again. As Jade walked into the light she bowed her head and glued her eyes to the floor even though her curiousity was begging her to look up. She stood about five feet behind him and listened to all.

"Whos this?" A jagged voice said.

"No one, now wheres the god damn package?" Canova snapped as he eyed a man who was seated in the far side of the room.

"Here," the man said, holding out his hand.

With a huff Canova whispered, "Stay," to the girl before moving toward the man.

Jade stayed there and watched his feet disappear from her view at the floor. She was already starting to get restless and she wanted to look up and look around the room and see what the other fairies looked like, but her fear over rided her curiousity and she kept her head down.

Soon Canova was back in sight and grabbed the girl by the shoulders and turned her forcefully toward the hole. "Okay, you go first. Wait for me outside." He said in an agitated voice, and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Keep your guard up, and try to stay as close to this tunnel as possable." He slipped a knife into her hands, and pushed the small of her back to make her go forward.

Jade saw him come back to her view and blink as he kept walking towards her. Jade almmost threw her hand up as he grabbed her shoulders but she managed to stop herself and keep looking at the ground, her heart started to pound. Her eyes widened as she looked in her hands to see what he had slipped in them. She stepped forward as he pushed her and then started to walk into the tunnel. She held her head up as she was a little deeper in the tunnel. She gripped the knife in her hand tighter, wondering why in the world he had given it to her. She saw the light at the tunnel and kept walking untill she was finally out.

When Canova was sure that the girl had atleast made it a fair enough distance into the tunnel, he finally turned to face the man. "Well Trish?" he asked, "I kicked her out, we can talk freely now. What did you want to say?"

The man seemed to brood in the silence that followed, but soon he opened his crooked mouth and spoke. "Youv been doing to much of that human drug, Canova." The man said, "Its gotten to your head."

"What, dont you start." Canova responded, but his words were cut off.

"You brought a girl to our home, a human girl." The man thundered, "And what did you plan to do with her? Let her follow you on your trips for me? Did you think i wouldnt mind? What your delivering is special, and you brought a human to accompany you?!" Canova shrunk at his words, but could not protest.

She looked back into the dark tunnel and shivered slightly. She leaned on the wall to the right of the dark entrance way andlet herself slide down into a sitting position. She looked at the knife in her hands as she waited for Canova to come back.

"I let you do that drug, and still trusted you to have enough sence to get your job done." Trish snapped, "Are you bored? Or are you just tired of pretending to be human? Tell me Canova, what has made you turn so stupid?"

"Just give me the damn package." Canova growled, "Ill deliver it, no problems."

"How long do you plan on keeping this girl?" He asked, "Because i think you should get rid of her, now."

"Ill do what i want, just.."

"Its here," Trish said, again holding out his hand. This time in his hand was a small golden ring, it had a ruby the size of a cats eye and it glittered with a magic aura. "The rules are the same, you guard this with your life."

Jade started to imagine what the fairy she heard would look like and waht the place would like. She then started to think about everything that had happened in there as she played with the knife. She began to worry about Canova though, and started to thin kabout going back in there to check on him. She whimpered softly and looked down to see she had cut her hand a little with the knife. She rolled her eyes at herself and hit her forhead softly with the palm of her head.

Canova was forced to bow as he took the ring, he didnt dare to put it on. Instead he slipped a silver chain threw its hoop, and tighed it around his neck. "I have recieved your package, Trish Valish, and now i am responsible for it. In life and death, it is mine to keep safe." Canova recited his words as if speaking from a book. He tucked the ring under his torn shirt and nodded before turning from the man, who had a toothy smile on his face.

"Good," was his reply, very simple but Trish's tone was harsh and set. Canova took a quick stide to the darkened space, where the girl had dissapeared into. In his mind he hoped that, for some reason unknown to himself, Trish hadnt killed her.
