I didn’t believe it. I didn’t want to believe it. Adam was the closest person (besides Mama) I felt that I had a connection with until now. I thought that I knew him, and the part that I knew about wouldn’t’ve possibly asked me to kill a defenseless child. I began to become more puzzled about the people in this “dimension”. He kept staring at me. His eyes were different. The message they sent was different. “Kill him. You know he’s not worth living. Why not kill him and end his misery?” His face was different as well. He suddenly looked serious, not the carefree guy I’ve known for the past couple of days. It felt like as if he had been possessed by the Grenos. He kept glaring at me, and a few moments later, his face changed. Now his expression felt like something unpleasant or unwanted was right in front of him. Perhaps it was me, or maybe the child. Several moments later, he threw the blade onto the ground and spat. He lowered his head, and stuck both hands in his pockets. Unexpectedly, his grimace turned to a slight smile, and he chuckled. Without raising his head, he said “Pass.” Now I was even more puzzled than before. Why did he just say pass? Is that some code for a different meaning? As soon as he realized what I was thinking about, his smile faded, and he (very much like Andrew) knocked me on the forehead. “Baka. Andrew really was right about you… partially. Didn’t you realize yet? This was a test to see what you would do. Apparently, you were to busy figuring me out that you didn’t notice Andrew over there. Luckily, you weren’t facing over there to see him make a few glitches (he eyed Andrew) in the shape-shifting (“I told you this lady’s slow and whack,” Andrew said under his breath). But, overall, you still pass.”
“Er… why did I pass…? I mean, I didn’t do anything at all!”
“Exactly.”
“But the why do I –,”
“Because –,”
“Don’t you know what this test was all about?” Andrew intercepted. “It was to see if you would really take down someone who was your ally. No matter how wounded he is, a true ally wouldn’t betray the other. Capiche?”

I was still flabbergasted even though Andrew had explained. They told me to rest early again for tomorrow’s training. I really hope that they don’t trick me this time, because that was very embarrassing. But at least I’ve learned something; about faith and myself. At least I know I’m not that kind of person who would kill anyone who’s weak. I’ve got to go now; Adam must’ve seen the light’s glow from under the door and told Andrew to tell me to sleep again.
