“Andrew,” Adam said. Then he turned to me. “All right, we’re on a budget of 50 Zenkros. Pick out something that’s less than that.”

I stared at him with confusion. “What are Zenkros?”

He also stared back at me with confusion. “You’ve never heard about it? Well, Zenkros are our currency, like how “money” is what your currency is for you so called ‘people’.” He made a face as if something repugnant was in his mouth as he said that. “It’s not easy saying something you don’t normally say.”

“Anyways, just pick out something from this side,” he gestured his hand to the back of the stand. “They’re all below 50 Zenkros.”

I went over to the back of the shack to take a look. All of them looked like peasants’ dresses, but they still looked very fashionable. Finally, I found one that I would wear without being forced to. The main color was white, and thin green lining was laced on the collar, straight down the middle of the front and back parts, and starting from the elbow, also straight down and finally finishing with a quick round around the sleeves. Then, the bottom of the dress doesn’t close up like a skirt; it’s almost like a pair of pants, that has a lot of space inside. It looks about my size, which, isn’t that big. I looked on the sleeves, the neck lace, and the bottom of the dress, but there was no tag to tell the price anywhere on the dress.

“Hey, found something you like yet?”

“Yeah, but there’s no price tag…”
He muttered something to reassure me. After that, he paid for it, and we went out of the stand.

Something about this village makes me nervous. Is it because everyone’s staring at me? Did they already notice that I’m not from here? Oh Lord! I’m following two complete strangers into this place where I don’t even know the name of! God, what would Mama say of that? My mind swirled with nervous thoughts.

Once again, my face must’ve looked like what I was: dazed out. Andrew hit me on the head. “Oi! Are you slacking off again?”

I came back into reality… sort of. “Huh? Oh, I wasn’t slacking off; I was just thinking.”

He went back to the side of his master. We seemed to be walking for ages, until we came to a stop in front of an old building. It had a grayish color and the small cracks weren’t very promising. It had the smell of dry weed and was next to a small, rushing stream. Adam used a small sliver key and unlocked the lock that seemed to be guarding the door from intruders. Both of them walked in, but I was too preoccupied with looking at the surroundings. “Hey, you coming in or what?! I’m not going to leave this door unlocked for you!” Andrew called.

“Coming!” But something caught my eye. A large black figure was walking through the forest. I didn’t see that when I was in the forest with them… It turned its head. Its face was red and formed the shape of the Diablo. Just by looking at it, stroke fear into my heart. All of a sudden, my heart felt cold and my body felt numb. I couldn’t move. Then, a voice in a distance pulled me out of the stare.
