VII. The golden fist
It was the third day after returning to Gaia and I was restless. I looked out into the night sky and saw nothing but darkness and stars. As I was watching something suddenly blocked my view. Out of instinct I pretended to sleep but kept my sword close at hand. It entered silently and krept over to my bed. I waited until it was only five feet away and then flung of my covers as I swung my sword at it two handed. It jumped out of the way and said. "No need to attack. I am an ally come to escort you." The figure was completely wrought in armor to my surprise as he was so silent as he entered. He beared no weapon but was big and strong enough to not need one. I sheathed my sword but kept my hand on it as I asked. "If you truley are an ally then why do you come in the middle of the night?" he smiled at me as he replied "If I were to wait till the morning there would be nothing to wait for." I just looked at him in confusion "Follow quickly." he said. he jumped out of the window with ease and I followed. He was running quickly and I struggled to catch up. I looked behind to see if anything were after us and there was. Two figures shrouded in black robes came after us with vicious looking claws. I ran faster and then I noticed the bridge coming up. "Over there so they can't flank us!" I said and the man in armor complied we were halfway across when two more of the robed figure jumped out, one on each side of the bridge. they came at us but I noticed they were in a defensive stance and I wondered why, but I soon found out. I was about to yell out to my companion but the dead was allready done. Two more robed figures had come out and they had cut through the bridge ropes. I didn't know what to do as I started falling but my companion did. "Head for the water!" he yelled as he knocked away one of the robed figures who was grappling with him. He fell into the water with a loud splash and I soon followed. I looked around in the murky depths and soon saw what appeared to be a dome. My companion headed for it so I followed. He was right on top of it when he suddenly slipped hrough the bubble. I stared in confusion but followed. when I got in I noticed that the place was luxuriously decorated and packed. I looked over to my companion who grinned and said "I guess they still don't know of this place then. Welcome, my friend, to the hall of the golden fist."
