I. The story begins
I awoke early today because today was a very special occasion. It was my 18th birthday, the day most of my tribe considered to be the day you truly became a man. I put on my clothes and went into the kitchen, only to find it allready crowded with people, part of the reason because it was my birthday, but more importantly, I was the chieftan's son. As soon as I entered everyone looked up and the noise died off. I saw my father come out of the crowd and come towards me. he towered over everyone at 6' 10" and could easily be noticed as a warrior from his heavily musceled arms, dark skin, and aura of authority. "Well," he said "shall we get this over with now or shall we continue the feast for a while more?" he asked. "What is a feast without food?" I replied "for if it does not have food then I shall have missed my breakfast. I'm famished." and so the feasting continued till late afternoon when the ceremony would begin. At that time, stuffed to the brim with food, I didn't complain when they said it was time, for I was starting to get bored from doing nothing but eating and talking. I stood up a little bit dizzy from all the ale and wine and stepped over to where my dad was besides his throne. I bowed down before him and he smiled. "Rise my son." he said in a pleasent tone. I did so and he placed his huge hands upon my shoulders. "You have been a good son to me and as such I have something very important to ask of you." he said. "I am your son and always shall be. Ask me what is needed and I shall obey." I replied. My father smiled as he said "You are your own person now so such speach is foolish, but your faith in me is enough to make any father proud." he patted me on the back and then turned to the crowd and said in a proud manner "My son he shall always be though now he is also a friend as he is his own. I have only one last request before he becomes his own that is of great importance." he then turned around to me and said "My son, we of this village have a good life, we have food, shelter, and each other, but our place is of the old age and we need your help to bring it to a new era. We need you to travel to the region of Gaia so we may set up trade there and obtain such things as electricity but the path is treachorous so I place this in your stead." with that he pulled down the sword mounted above his throne and pulled out a paper from within his cloak. He placed them in my hand and said "Make me proud even more than I allready am." and with that I set off.
