Well, you've already completed most of the Gaia cycle. Here we go.
The N00b. A N00b is a new member with no regards to how it appears on the website. They tend to act like whiny brats, spoiled rotten to the core, who expect others to do the work for them. They beg for gold, have terrible grammar, and tend to annoy everyone in threads around them.
THE CYCLE OF THE N00B:
Step One: Makes an outragous dream avatar. Step Two: Begs, expecting every other Gaian to drop what he or she is doing to donate their hard-earned gold. Step Three: Gets flamed. Badly. Step Four: Whines about how they're new and don't deserve to be treated that way. At this point, people stop paying attention to the N00b and they can go one of two ways. Way 1: The N00b jumps forums, posting nonsense everywhere and pissing off thread owners. Eventually they get enough gold to buy semi-decent items. And either look like a regular Gaian, but have terrible grammar and are insufferably annoying, OR they get "hacked" and give out their password. Then they go make a thread (sometimes in the wrong forum) and complain about it, once again, expecting other Gaians to drop everything and help them. Where then, the process starts all over again. Go back to step one and re-read. OR, if the N00b went through option two, the N00b would jump forums, post around, eventually adapt to Gaia's way, and slowly make it's way to becoming a Gaian. Very few N00bs accomplish this, it's a rare thing indeed.
The Newb. The Newb is a new member who is cautious and curious about the site. It asks questions, has decent if not good grammar, and is willing to learn how the site works. They are usually looking for new friends in the "Welcome" forums, or asking questions via PM or in the "Assistance" forums.
THE CYCLE OF THE NEWB:
Step One: They join the website, curious. Step Two: They post (sometimes in the wrong forum) looking for friends. Step Three: Other Gaians slowly talk to them, wary or another new member. Step Five: The Newb is polite, has semi-lit to literate grammar, either witty, has interesting hobbies, can carry out a conversation, etc. Step Six: The Newb makes friends. Step Seven: The Newb asks people whenever it has a problem, and because of it's politeness and how it pays attention to grammar, it gets honest answers. Step Eight: The Newb learns how Gaia works, and gets good at finding it's way around the site. Now, a Newb can go one of two ways. Way One: The Newb stays in the shy, semi-new state, always asking for more friends, asking if it's ok to do something or the other, and eventually gets on other Gaian's nerves. The Newb slowly degrades itself to N00b status, where it either gets "scammed" (follow the "Hacked" route under "The N00b".) or the Newb becomes bolder, plays with colours and different post styles, and makes it's way to becoming a Gaian.
The Gaian. The Gaian is a member of Gaia who has gotten into the swing of how the website works. They know where to go to do whatever they want on the site, and don't need to search for it or ask questions as to how anything works. They've been on long enough to learn just about everything Gaia has to teach them, and are still active on the site.
THE CYCLE OF THE GAIAN:
There are too many cycles for a Gaian to follow. But the main parts they all go through, (not nesicarily in this order): Dream avatar, posting, flaming, accomplishment of dream avatar, N00b bashing, games, playing in towns, ADDICTION TO GAIA.
Eventually, when a Gaian goes through all that, and has been on a site for more then two years, he or she becomes an Oldie.
The Oldie. The Oldie is a member of Gaia who has been on the site for more then two years. They know everything about everything, even things that are no longer on the site. They can tell you the main colour of the front page from the beginning of the site.
THE CYCLE OF THE OLDIE:
The Oldie has many paths as well, it's basically a Gaian, who's just got no life. The main things an Oldie does: posts, flames, rants about "The old Gaia", plays games, sells things on the market, complain about the new layouts or features Gaia comes out with, talk about how addicted they are to Gaia and warn others of it's addicting qualities, rant more about the old Gaia, make fun of N00bs, refuse to donate, donate to those worthy, rant, rave, and share their internet cookies (sometimes pie substitutes for the cookies).
And that is a quick summary of the members on Gaia.
