It's hard to believe it's 2020. 20 years ago, I was celebrating the new millennium. I was 13. >> So much has change since then, and I'm no where near the same person I was back then. I'm a lot stronger now, I've learned to stand up for myself, I found my voice. It wasn't easy, the road I've been on has been long and hard. Between losing so much, moving, ending up in Minnesota. Things have been better now in the last seven years then ever before. It's just me and my mom now. I still get letters every Christmas from my grandfather, but that's about it. I made the choice to no longer keep in contact with my 'father' and it was the best choice I could make for myself. 20 years, is a long time, so much has changed, and things are far better now then before. I used to live in California, but over the years I've realized it was just a place to stay. It was never home, it was always a struggle. Fighting for electricity, food, and just to have a place a live, it was so draining. The hell me and my mom have gone through, we've become stronger people for what we went through.

I have a job, I have friends, and I know so many people now it's nuts. We have food, we have a heater that actually works. The house we lived in for seven years was crap. It was always cold, and my then step father refused to fix anything. I'm sure there's a special place in hell for him and my biological father. So here's to a new year, a new start into the unknown. It's 2020, things are good, and I look forward to what comes next. I've seen the worse that life has the offer. Face near homelessness, but I have more now then I ever had before. I'll face the new year head on, cheers~
