Sera's Public Journal
If you don't like it, don't comment on it. I might vent or rant. I'm not immune to certain stresses, and this doesn't really help. You CAN NOT and WILL NOT hold me responsible if you're a subject of this journal. Cmon, it's not like anyone will know.
Pootsie (6th Day.)
Well I woke up early this morning... Cant remember when waking nightmare faded to a drifting and uncomforted sleep. Had a muffin, discovered I could pack my pills into pieces of muffin... It WORKED.

I had to get up early today because (Well also because the maids were coming in to clean up.) we were planning to go to a lavender farm in the up-country near Kula on the slope of Haleakala, so we could tour that. We passed by the sugar mill. They say burning sugar cane smells like rotten eggs, and at first all I smelled was sour yogurt, but then I smelled it today. The whole family smelled it. It smelled, for a lack of a better word, cat poop. (Cat owners who scoop the litter box, you will understand, because thats what it smelled like!) We had to close the windows and turn on the air conditioning back and forth.

However, the smells that greeted us high up in the cloudy slopes were nothing less than DIVINE. Oh, what I would have given to LIVE there. It was so BEAUTIFUL. Cool, and warm, QUIET, serene. We walked around the grounds and I did a little treasure hunt that required you use stamps. The reward wasn't much, a shortbread cookie with lavender baked into it in little pieces. I tried it, but the thing is. Lavender, like beer, is an acquired taste. And I just don't have it. But I tried it in a chocolate brownie and liked it a little better. Mom got seasoning salts for cooking back at home. I wish I had more money, I would have liked to get an eyecover filled with lavender.

There isnt really anything lavender can't solve. It soothes and calms, gets rid of negative energy, has natural antiseptic properties and promotes the healing process, it keeps bugs away, it cleans naturally... Oh god, I dont know. Name it, it can help. All I know is that along with Roses, Plumeria, and Jasmine, it's one of my favorites.

Next stop up was the Surfing Goat Dairy, a ways down, where it wasn't so cool. I got to feed little kids and pet them. Turns out, I thought they'd bite, but they don't, and all they want is to just suck on your fingers. I got bleated at, alot. I must admit, they do really sound human. I really felt sympathy and close to these animals, because technically now because of the new zodiac calendar, I'm a Capricorn (Though in 1994 I was still an aquarius.). They're really comforting, even if they stink and are associated with the devil.

So then we went down to Paia and had lunch at Mama's Fish Shack. It was really good. Went shopping at Paia. Apparently its legal to smoke pot in hawaii, because there were TWO places to get pot. A psychedelic store, and a designated hemp store. I didnt buy anything either place, because there were no hairsticks. I've been racking up a huge phonebill that ill probably have to pay for, and theres still something on Etsy I want to buy when we get home. Not telling, someone might buy it.

We went back to the hotel, went to the beach. It was super windy, and I was having trouble opening the door to get inside the room because the door weighs a million pounds to enter our suite, and I went back before Dad could muscle the door open. Ended up having to ask for help. Washed up, went to dinner and pigged out. (Oh I shouldn't, but I'm so active in Hawaii.) For dessert, pigged out. (Drop your drug store ice cream, now. You need to try Lappert's. It's better than what they can offer. Yes, even better than Ben and Jerry's.) Walked around a bit, came back here to the hotel. I'm really beginning to learn just what aloha means. (It's more than just hello and goodbye. It has many meanings. It can mean just about anything.)

Oh also, I now know the name of the cat that frequents the hotel grounds now. His (We thought he was a she.) name's Pootsie, he's not much older than a kitten, and hes extremely cute. He has a collar and all, but the deli, Zack's, owns him. He's an outdoor kitty, and he sleeps outside and frequents Five Palms, the 4 star restaurant that is also in the hotel. Usually sleeps under one of their tables outside.

... Give me a sign. Please. I want us to be happy together.

-Sera
