You think you have what it takes to live this life, make it in this world. Where harsh is the new reality and pain is the closest thing to joy anyone will ever feel, and love, love has faded into the grey polluted skies where dreams are held captive.
Go ahead no one is watching
Your ignorance only takes you so far until the truth sinks in and nothing is what it seems or what it was. Everything will change and you’ll be lost in a darkened home where everyone stares at you with judgmental eyes because that’s the way of the world. Emotions won’t matter, pride will become the new fashion and lies will become the new mask. Everyone will want it and everyone will have it.
Let it all out, let it all go
Strength will not save you because that which is strong can weaken over time. Soon buildings fall and walls crumble their remains becoming signs of victory for the forgetful. That which marks hope can and will be forgotten and the world will fall into chaos.
A tear for every loved one
A tear for every nightmare, memory
Let a few more go for those who are lost
Finally, for that which was buried beneath the ashes
By our fires of destruction
