The Destined One slept through the day, rousing only to eat another enormous meal and for the human doctor’s visit. She seemed to snap awake, sensing that there was another presence beside Azumaru and herself in the house. She fell asleep again immediately after he left though.
The next day followed the same pattern except that in place of a doctor’s visit, the Destined One made a call to a man she called Sensei, asking if she could resume training next Tuesday.
That night the Master arrived once more to sleep in the Destined Ones bed.
Her reaction was strange. A snarl, a cower and shudder when he touched her but she didn’t rouse.
“Status!” the Master commanded of Azumaru.
“Now that I have assumed most of her pain, her body is fast tracking its adaptation/ repairs. This is using up a great deal of her energy. She has been asleep for most of the last two days. She wakes only to eat and pass waste… of which there is very little. It’s as if her systems have become better at extracting what it needs from the food the she eats.”
The Master looked mildly astounded. “How do you know all of this? The link between you shouldn’t make you privy to that sort of information.”
