“It is alright. Your mother has already roused the others and the Master commands you to rest. You need it, especially after last nights incident.”
“So, did we really kick arse on a bunch of bothersome psi beings last night?”
Azu nodded, a look of remembered pleasure on her face. Then, with a shake of her head she seemed to snap back to reality. “Please stay in bed Nick-san. I will bring your breakfast. Doctor Tetsumi will be in to check on you today as well.”
“Oh, good. Maybe he can give me something for this stuffed up feeling head of mine. Guess I wasn’t quite up to a jaunt to those Psi Plains of yours huh? All of a sudden I’m very tired”
Azumaru shuddered. She could feel the Destined One’s body and systems trying desperately to cope with all the damage as well as adapting to the changes initiated by becoming a Bonding, as well as the several anomalous things shaken loose by the process. With Azumaru taking on the majority of her pain the Destined Ones systems seemed to be streamlining and speeding up the repair/adaptation processes. Just what had the Master acquired here. This was far outside of normal for a human.
-How do I know that?- She wondered. –Perhaps that linkage isn’t as one way as I thought… it’s very subtle though. I can’t tell where the information is coming from. It’s just there. If that is true though, how does SHE know these things?-
Azu stopped pondering and fixed the Destined One a large meal. To recover her energy and fuel her adaptation repairs, the Destined Ones body needed food… and so did hers.
