Ebony wings lay torn and broken,
Through to you my heart has spoken.
I’m failing miserably to try and rescue,
The poison has already reached you.
Shatter these walls of glass,
This misery, this, my past.
Under this skin,
These walls paper thin,
I was poisoned within…
This cancer has spread,
Ash becomes my bed.
But I won’t succumb to this venom.
For even roses rise from ruin.
Ignited this ash and melted this broken glass.
I push it all away.
I told tomorrow I would see it another day,
And turned my back on yesterday.
And to you, I will fly away…
