I just write to help calm my self down, so I'll write when I'm mad,sad or even bored. What ever comes out is out I write, so later I can laugh at my problems.
Chapter 1; The Girl of Two Powers
*`I haven't thought a title but this is a story I'm working on. It's sort of a spin off of Inu-Yasha`*

“Happy birthday, sweetie!”

Kagome and Inu-Yasha awoke their daughter early on her fifteenth birthday. Kiro only moaned in displeasure at being waken so early on a Sunday. Kagome looked to her husband and smiled. Inu-Yasha winked in response and drove his hand into the depths of his pocket and pulled out a small green box.
“Okay, Kiro. I guess we’ll just give you your gift later…”
With that Kiro’s hand flew up o hi and he nearly dropped the box.
“I don’t think so.”
Kirosami said as she raised her head to smile at her parents. No matter how much they embarrassed her, she still loved them. Her dad and his weird hats with his hair always tied back and her mother’s strange mood swings. They always seemed to fight but that was just the way they were.
Shifting to sit up on her bed her parents seemed to have a look of surprise that quickly passed.
“What? Is my hair that messy?” Kiro said as her hands went up to flatten the ‘wild’ hair.
“No… It’s just that…”
Kagome was interrupted by Inu-Yasha’s gleaming joy.
“Oh, Kiro, I’m so proud of you!”
His arms flew around his daughter in that vice grip hug of his that seemed weaker today.
“Dad, what is with you?”
Kagome pried Inu-Yasha from Kiro and dragged him, despite his protest, to the door.
“See you down stairs for breakfast hunny.”
“But mom wha-“
Kagome shut the door before Kiro had the chance to ask her question. Kiro fell back on to her bed in confusion.
“What is going on? They’re acting stranger then usual.”
With a sigh Kirosami heaved herself out of bed and found some clean clothes.

Down stairs, over the stove top, Kagome was cooking breakfast. A musical ding sounded and Kagome opened the oven and pulled out some small cakes. She placed them on the table to cool. Inu-Yasha poked his head in the door way and took a big whiff admiring his wife’s cooking.
“It smells great!”
He exclaimed as he sat down at the table. Kagome turned around smiling. As her eyes fell upon his exposed ears her smile faded.
“Inu-Yasha!”
“What?”
Shocked at her sudden change in mood change, Inu-Yasha put his arms up, as if to protect himself, and backed away frightened.
“What did I say about those!?!”
She waved a knife at his head to emphasize her point.
“Hey, watch where you’re waving that thing! Besides, now that Kiro has-“
“She hasn’t seen them yet, so put your cap back on!”
“Fine…”
Grumbling he pulled his baseball cap out of his back pocket and angrily shoved it on his head. Kagome turned back to the stove and began to hum. Inu-Yasha watched her while slowly sneaking his hand towards the cakes.
“Don’t touch those cakes, Inu-Yasha.” Kagome said calmly and continued to stir the pot before her.
Inu-Yasha pulled his hand back still amazed at how she could see him without turning around.
“Hey, Inu-Yasha?”
“Yeah?” He said standing up and walking up behind Kagome. He slid his hands between her arms and hugged her lovingly. He was glad with his choice though he knew there was still tension even though Kikyo was gone. He loved Kikyo but he loves Kagome now.
“I thought Kirosami wasn’t going to… was going to be normal.”
Releasing her from his hug he turned his wife to face him.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He looked at her questioningly.
“I didn’t mean it like that.”
He let go of Kagome and walked away from her. She reached out and grabbed his arm.
“Inu-Yasha, I just meant, I thought since she wasn’t born with them…”
“You don’t think I didn’t want her to have a normal childhood. The one I wasn’t given?”
Kagome looked at him sympathetically.
“Inu-Yasha, I’m glad there is something that you and Kiro can connect with now but it’s just a little confusing. I mean you were born with yours, why did hers show up over night?”
Inu-Yasha turned and looked at Kagome and smiled.
“I don-“
His reply was cut off by a scream from up stairs. Inu-Yasha looked up then back to his wife and grinned.
“Sounds like she found them…”

Kiro flew down the stairs yelling at the top of her lungs.
“Mom, Dad!”
“Kagome and Inu-Yasha calmly walked into the hall way and looked at their daughter with concern.
“What’s wrong?” asked Kagome.
“’What’s wrong?’ These are what’re wrong!”
Kiro frantically pointed to the dog ears protruding from her head.
“Okay…Which one of you did it?!”
Kiro was furious and her parents confused.
“Did what?” asked Inu-Yasha.
“Don’t pretend you don’t see them!”
They shook their heads and shrugged their shoulders.
“Who glued these dog ears to my head? They look ridiculous!”
The words hurt Inu-Yasha. He huffed and snorted in anger.
“Oh yeah, well guess what!”
He pulled off his hat and Kiro gasped. Kagome smacked her head and sighed in exasperation.
“Oh… My…God! … Some one glued dog ears to you too?!!”
Inu-Yasha nearly fell to the floor he was so stunned. All Kagome could do was laugh. Inu-Yasha looked at her annoyed.
“And what are you laughing at?”
“Oh Inu-Yasha, calm down. We’ll explain it to her later.”
Kagome smiled and hugged her husband in attempts to comfort him.
“Hello! Explain what?!?”
Kagome and Inu-Yasha simply walked into the kitchen. This annoyed Kiro, she felt out of the loop today. She sighed and followed her parents into the kitchen. She could smell the food from upstairs and was hungry.

Sitting at her usual spot Kiro licked her lips and smiled.
“Wow mom. You made all of this for my birthday? But wait, you don’t usually make this much… Ok, tell me what’s up.”
Her parents both looked at her smiling and it disturbed her.
“Seriously…”
Kiro looked at her parents waiting for an explanation. Kagome sighed and sat down on a chair.
“Ok well see, your dad-“
“Has your birthday gift!”
Inu-Yasha stepped in with an awkwardly large smile. Sitting down he gave Kagome a look that said ‘shut it!’
“Okay…” Kiro said suspiciously. Inu-Yasha and Kagome smiled at Kiro.
“So where is it?”
Kagome nudged Inu-Yasha anxiously. He grumbled and pulled out the small green box and set it on the table. Kiro clapped her hands together joyfully and smiled.
“Is it jewelry?”
He pushed it towards her and she gently picked it up.
“It’s jewelry, I know it is. I can feel it!”
The odd thing was she really could. She carefully lifted the little green box. Kagome leaned against Inu-Yasha and they both smiled at Kiro. She slowly opened the box and gasped. She lifted a glittering white jewel out of the box to examine it further. Kagome and Inu-Yasha watched their daughter’s reaction, pleased that she liked it.
“It’s… It’s so-“
“Beautiful? I know, it was mine at your age and it’s what brought your father and me together.”
Kagome and Inu-Yasha looked lovingly into each other’s eyes, and Kiro looked at them awkwardly.
“That’s great and all mom, but I was going to-“
“You know, there is a story behind that jewel.” Inu-Yasha said.
“That would explain it…”
Kiro glared to the side annoyed at their ignorance. She had to sit through their story now.
“Long ago there was a beautiful priestess- OWW!”
Kagome elbowed Inu-Yasha in the gut and gave him a dirty look.
“What?!?” Inu-Yasha said confused.
“There was a priestess and a half demon-“
“A powerful half demon!” Inu-Yasha said with pride.
“Inu-Yasha!” Kagome said annoyed.
“What?” his pride now broken.
"Would you like to tell the story?”
"Why yes, I wou-“
Kagome gave him a dirty look, if it were fire he would have been ash by now. Clearing her throat, Kagome continued with her story.

”So the priestess was chosen to guard and purify this jewel called the shikon jewel. The jewel gave the holder great power, but if the jewel would become evil. The priestess was the only one who could purify it. The half demon wanted the jewel to become a full demon, but he fell in love with the priestess. An evil bandit who was badly burned gave his body to demons to gain an able body to acquire the shikon jewel. He pits the priestess and half demon against each other. The priestess was wounded badly but before she died she sealed the half demon, which betrayed her and stole the jewel, to a tree. She had the jewel burned with her body.
Sixty years later the priestess’ reincarnate fell through the Bone Eaters Well and found the half demon. She accidentally shattered the jewel and she and the half demon had to retrieve the jewel shards, while defeating the demon started the whole thing. They met friends and made enemies.”

For some reason Inu-Yasha seemed deeply moved by Kagome’s story. Kiro shook her head.
“That’s a great story and all mom, but I don’t believe in all that fantasy stuff. Hey, do I have to wear this? It’s so…old.” She said while shoveling her breakfast into her mouth.
Kagome and Inu-Yasha looked at their daughter with their jaws to the floor. With half a pancake hanging out of her mouth Kiro glanced up at her parents.
“What?” She said as the pancake fell from her mouth and landed on her plate. Kagome and Inu-Yasha looked away ashamed. Kiro straightened her back and looked worriedly at them.
“Sorry… Hey look, I’ll wear it.”

Kiro quickly put the jewel around her neck and smiled at her parents hoping they wouldn’t be upset by her words. She felt an odd power flowing through her body. Kagome and Inu-Yasha looked over at Kiro and gasped. The white jewel had turned gray. Kiro looked at it with concern.
“Did I break it?”
She went to go take it off but Kagome stopped her.
“No, don’t… Inu-Yasha, would you help me with the dishes?”
“But I’m not done eating.” Kiro protested.
“Yeah…” Inu-Yasha agreed.
“Inu-Yasha!..”
Kagome grabbed Inu-Yasha’s hair and ushered him towards the sink. Kiro shook her head and left the room.

“Inu-Yasha, did you notice anything odd about the jewel?”
Kagome whispered as she filled the sink with water and squirted a dab of dish soap into the steaming sink.
“Not really…why?”
Inu-Yasha replied as he picked the dishes up off the table and brought them to Kagome. She took them and placed them into the soapy water.
“It turned grey and I didn’t sense any aura… Good or evil.”
She commented as she scrubbed a plate and rinsed it.
“Really? That is strange, could it because of Kiro?”
He asked as he took the plate from Kagome. He dried it and put it away.
“Well she is half priestess and half demon…”
