Greyhardt manor, Transylvania
Salem's bedroom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Salem stared at the ceiling of his bedroom. He lay edged back in his chair staring at the ceiling with a sort of chatotonic look about his face. He wore his black dress pants along with his boots but he neither wore his vest or cape, just his ruffled longsleeve shirt that looked as if he hadn't tried to look his best. He diden't see the point in dressing today and he had no yearn to be out in the night. The floor was littered with bottles of he and Sakaar's favored gin. As he lay, leaned back, in his chair he pondered the times he and his brother had been through. He figured all the memories were now but just a fading mist seeping from his mind. The door knob moved slightly and then opened. His father stood in the doorway. Samuel looked the same as he always did with his usual attire. Though his eyes seemed to look much more tired then they did thiry-two years ago. He had his left hand cupped which he extended out towards the room and opened. Nytani fluttered into the room from Samuel's hand. She was one of the few Faerie (or fairy, to most) beings left in Transylvania. She left a cyan colored trail of dust behind her when she moved through the air with the grace only the Faerie could accomplish. Her figure jested that she looked nude but she was covered by what seemed to be plant like fragments jutting from her pale skin, covering her more private areas. Her hair was also the same color as the dust yet it reached down to her lower back past her fragile wings. As usual she carried her small bronze picolo that she used to sway Salem to sleep when he was but still a child. Samuel cleared his throat. "....here...i've noticed you havent slept since the new year.....i figured Nytani Could help.." Salem dident glance towards his father, he continued to stare at the ceiling. Samuel blinked his eyes and closed the door. Nytani was left alone in the room with Salem. For a moment they just stayed in there position, muttering not a word. Finaly Nytani flew over and sat on his shoulder, she was about three inches and could nearly reach Salem's ear. She examined the side of his head and his hair. She always liked his light blonde hair, which used to be shoulder length but now was leading to a ponytail. She crossed her left leg over her right and lifted the picolo to her mouth but before she began, she spoke. "Its....good to see you again..." She whispered. Her voice quite puny but not at all obnoxious. She began her small tune. It was a song she had learned from another Faerie when she was a born. The other Faerie had used it to calm another vampire many times before during his journey but it was all history now. The tune sounded as if it were freezing the air around them. Turning the rain or the gin from the bottles to ice. Then when she began to sing, it was as if the fires deep within had melted the ice and snow and filled the area with a welcome warmth.
About an hour later she had stopped. She looked over her own shoulder at Salem. He had closed his eyes. She yawned and layed back on his shoulder with her hands behind her head. She felt it was great to be back to her old job. " Nytani....why did you stop?" Startled, she nearly fell of his shoulder. Salem was awake. "ohh..uh..ahem.. sorry i thought you had fallen asleep." Salem grinned. "Almost....its been 32 years since i've slept and as usual, your songs still seem to put me at rest."
She smiled but then quickly stopped. " I heard about what happened to your brother..." Salem closed his eyes again. " Its fine...." He said,
without emotion. They both looked up towards the door. Things were being shattered and he could here a couple voices. Both sounded angry but they were muffled. Salem stood up quickly, flinging Nytani off of his shoulder. She cought her self and floated towards the door as Salem grabbed his rapier. They ran out the door and hurried down the hall towards the stairs leading down to the foyer. They stood at the top of the stairs watching what was happening. Samuel stood near the table in the center of the foyer. Another man stood in front him. He wore a dark rust colored elegant coat with the sleeves cut off up until it reached his elbows and the coat tail flapping behind his knees. Under the jacket he wore a charcoal black shirt that was laced with the same rust orange on the seams. He had what looked like a long bladed chain tied to his hip and he wore a dark silver gauntlet on his right hand that was quivering near his whip. He had shoulder length black hair and had a small patch of stubble at the center of his chin. " If it hadn't been for your damn filthy line of vampires, my father would have been alive today!" Samuel raised his rands up slightly. " Im sorry for your loss but im afraid you are not welcome here..." He gestured his hand towards the door
" please....leave..." The man reached for the "chain" on his hip. He extended it and only then did Salem realize it was a whip. He cracked the whip and prepared to charge at Samuel. At that moment Salem was already at the mans side. He had caught the bladed whip chain with his rapier, he held tight as it wrapped around the blade of the sword. Startled, the man looked at Salem with his eyes quite wide. The front double doors opened and in walked
Derrich Howellcrow. He put his hand on the mans shoulder.
" Dieter these aren't the ones were going to be fighting."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
