Chapter 2: "My brother...whom i loved"
December-31-1799
11:48 PM
Greyhardt manor, Transylvania
The manor gates.

~~~~~~~~~~ The fog was begining to fade away. Laughter came from down the road which, on both sides, was sheltered by the trees leading to the forests. Salem was ahead of his brother. They were racing home from the village they had went to. Salem stopped to let his brother catch up, he wasn't tired, he just wanted
Sakaar at his side again. " Heh-heh!...looks like you beat me again brother.." Panted Sakaar.
In a way Salem and Sakaar were still just boys. There father had scolded Sakaar to act age appropriate since he was the older brother. The two were distant when Salem was much younger until there mother had died. About then they had forged a bond much more powerful than a friendship. "Ha, yes once again i've defeated you!" Salem taunted. He looked at his brothers hand. The bottle of gin was finished. They diden't drink all of it, only a few sips. They had spilt more then they drank during their race. Sakaar caught his breath " Well you wont be lucky next time, i can assure you....so how was your confrontation with the girl?" Salem turned around to his brother quickly, his shoulder length light blonde hair waved and his green eyes lit up. They had always said he had his mothers features. "oh Sakaar it was like nothing i've ever experienced! Her voice is almost as beautiful as her face! ohh...i think im in love brother!" Sakaar andSalem both laughed aloud. They continued down the path until they reached the gate of the manor. They passed the gate and opened the large double doors to the foyer. The chandelier was lit. It filled the room with a gold light that blinded them slightly. " Hmmm....father must have guests over...." Sakaar thought aloud. They could here voices up stairs from another set of double doors. They set the empty bottle on the table at the center of the foyer and climbed the stairs to investigate. As they got closer, the voices slowley began to cease. They peeked through the crack of the door. A man in dark robes stood in front of an altar that had been setup in there ballroom. Neither of the brothers could make out what was on the silver platter behind him. "Before we begin..." the man spoke. " I must seek the aid....of a pure blood...."
The crowd began to murmur shockingly amongst themselves.
Derrich Howellcrow stood up from his seat in the midst of the
crowd. "Nonsense! You know as well as everyone in this manor that the last pure blood vampire was the Count himself!" The robed man frowned in his direction. "Perhaps i should continue the ritual WITHOUT a pure blood.....say...using you?" Derrich sat down as the crowd began to murmur again. Samuel sat in the front row with his left leg resting on his right knee. He remembered what had happened to his wife. He decided to keep quiet aboutSakaar.
The crowd silenced when the robed man rose both his arms outwards. "Fine.....if no one shall volunteer.....i shall seek one." with his arms spread out, the room began to grow dark with a purple tint to it. The candles burned blue near the altar, shielding that side of the room from the darkness. From behind the door, Sakaar began to feel a tugging arua upon him. As if something was pulling on him. " eh?!" he stuttered. " Wha- whats happening?!" Salem asked as his brother began to lurch forward. Sakaar pulled away with all his strength but the tugging sensation seemed to grow more intense. Finaly, he gave in and was flown, slamming open the door, into the air above the robed man over the silver platter of ash. "Ah.....there we are...." The robed man exhaled. Samuel
stood up in shock. " NO! you cannot use him!" He shouted to the man. Yet the man did not even glance at Samuel. When he tried to interrupt the ceremony, the robed man looked at Samuel and from his eyes, shot a purple colored beam that shot paralysis through Samuels bones. He layed on the floor, writhing in pain.
Salem stood at the doorway to the ballroom watching. He snapped out of his shock and sprinted down the aisle. Shouting for the robed man to stop as he drew his sword: A rapier made in france. Derrich
had been watching the events and began to grow worried. He dident always like the Greyhardt family but had respected Sakkar for his determination. He sat, a sweat building on his forehead. Before Salem could build up a swing from his sword, the robed man had paralysed him
temporarily like his father. The robed man let out a burst of power as above him, Sakaar began to shout. His cry echoed the halls of the manor.
He spun around in mid-air an transformed into a cloud of blood as if it were a spray. The drops fell upon the ashs, showering it and turning it into a puddle of a dark red substance. The robed man fell to his knees and began to gasp for air. At this moment his head swung away from his shoulders along with several sprays of his blood. Behind him, standing on the table was a man in the blackest of dress suits. His cape long and his ruffled shirt white as snow too mach his long flowing white hair and his small white beard. His fist was caked with the blood of the robed man. He inhaled and drank the fluid from his hand. A church bell gonged in the distance, it was midnight. He exhaled, his eyes opened. The pupils were a dirty yellow. He grinned. "Let us go out for pleasure."
He said in a deep voice. "....The night is still young....." he finished, still grinning.
When he walked down the aisle, everyone arose and followed. On the new year and the turn into the eighteenth century, Count Vladamir Tepes Dracula had risin from his prisoning death. Salem layed
on his back despite the paralysis being worn off. His stare frozen in the direction of where his brother had been. Samuel stood watching the
guests leave. Except for Derrich who had stayed. He walked over to where Salem layed. He looked down at him and then towards the doorway to the ballroom. Salem's mind was racing. He finaly sat up and hung his head.~~~~~~~~~~
