The Detective's Tale part 2
The Detective’s Tale part 2
It couldn’t be! We all gasped. Before our eyes, standing right there with a frigid smirk on his face, stood well known, Peter Johnson.
Anybody would think “Oh! This Johnson guy might be a pretty nice guy if you get to know him!” Well, my advice: no one should even be around him for more than five minutes. This man is a kidnapper. Johnson once kidnapped Lena when she was looking in the school dumpster. But the fact that he’s here now, is NOT implementing a good sign.
“Well! What do we have here? A pack of rodents?” Johnson sneered in a scant tone. “Why are you here!? There’re no dumpsters for you to manifest here!” I retorted. He gave me a hard stare then melted into the shadows. “Well, that went well!” Ali said (which could be an ambiguous phrase). I ignored him and sat on a chair and looked at the others. Everyone was there except~ something wasn’t right. Then I understood. “God! Where’s Noor!?” I yelled and jumped to my feet.
Everyone looked around in worry, and then we realized Lena was gone too. “Not again,” Jawad moaned, and Shaheeda elbowed him. “Shut-up! This is serious!” I went to the bathroom and peeked inside- but something pushed me inside. “Sehar! This is ALL your fault! If it wasn’t for you~ no one would be missing!” I just then realized that I was pushed to the ground and the lights were shut. Now I was mad. “Quit it Ali! Open the lights.” The lights switched on and I started to regret ever requesting that...
sad sad sad
“Ahhhhhh!!!” Someone was screaming. He looked up. Now what?
His name is Ali Al-Falih, and he’s pretty mad at the moment. Sehar just had to turn down my advice, she ALWAYS balks me! It’s all her fault- wait a sec, where is she? “Oh no!” Raneem moaned, “Sehar’s gone too!” Oh great. “Where was she last? We can find her~ and the others…. Guys, where’s Shaheeda?” Oh great. “Let’s go look,” he said and took the lead.
It probably felt pretty great to him leading our group of~ Um~ four (including him); but the fact that they were LOOKING for someone, well, that wasn’t so great... They crossed through the hall and saw a door leading to the gym. “What the?... Let’s take a look.” They entered and started to sneeze. The room was covered in dust! “Well, looks like they need some serious help,” Jawad said. Ali started to think that he meant that they need help cleaning the gym, but he realized that Jawad was looking up.
Two people were hanging from the ceiling facing their doom: falling from an incalculable height. Just then did Ali realize that they were Shaheeda and Lena. The group all rushed to a ladder and climbed their way up, but unfortunately, Shaheeda and Lena weren’t close enough. They were at least 4 feet from the walk path, so the group had to grab the ladder and make a make-shift bridge to them. They managed to untie Lena and Shaheeda without them falling to the floor first. Then they headed to look for me and Noor. Well I hope so…
sad sad sad
Shaheeda walked ahead and started to say, “Well Raneem, we still are together~ and that’s a good thing. Except for the fact~ Raneem?” She turned around. “Great God! She’s gone!” Shaheeda screamed. “Help!” Came a muffled voice. The sound was coming from the attic.
They ran back into the hallway and dashed up the staircase; the stairs led to a dark and cold hall. You could feel goose bumps forming on your skin. “The attic!” Jalal yelled while pointing to an opening in the ceiling.
They went through the hallway and found a makeshift ladder. Someone was here. BOOM! Someone was up there. Everyone carefully climbed up the ladder, and opened the door to the attic and stealthily went in.
It was so compact! “Help!” someone screamed. The group looked around and saw a shadow. Slowly, Shaheeda advanced behind a box and gasped, “Raneem! Noor! Thank God you both are-!” Kaboom! “Guys? We still have to look for Sehar,” Jawad said nervously. What’s wrong with him, Shaheeda thought. Kaboom! The sound was there again! We all looked up; the roof!?
sad sad sad
Jawad pointed up to the roof. “Someone’s up there,” he said. Then all of them ran to the lobby~ which had suddenly expanded~ and ran outside. “Oh no! Sehar!” Noor yelled. Unfortunately, while I was unconscious, Johnson had put me on the roof. My hands were tied to the chimney? I couldn’t get down. “Help!” I screamed.
Slowly, the others leveled a ladder they had found somewhere and Jawad, Shaheeda, and Ali carefully maneuvered themselves. Jawad and Ali worked on untying my hands, and Shaheeda and I conferred. “Shaheeda, I think I’ve solved this mystery.” “Sehar that’s great!” Then my hands were released. “There we go! Your hands untied.” “Thanks,” I nodded curtly to Ali. “We’ve gotta find Johnson- and now!”
“Oh I’m right here!” We turned around and there was Johnson~ looking like a skydiver? “Where have you been? Terrorizing little kids by standing in their windows?” He hissed and ran at me. That was probably my last comment.
“The sun!” Jawad yelled! “What good is that going to do?” I yelled back. Then Johnson took off all of a sudden. “Now!” Jawad yelled, and he and Jalal both raised their magnifying glasses. Seriously! That’s what he meant! The sun’s rays went through the magnifying glasses’ frames and were aimed at Johnson’s ropes and burned right through! Then Johnson went tumbling to the floor from a roof that was 40 feet high. No chance he could’ve survived.
biggrin biggrin biggrin
That morning, we dragged our feet back home and tried to catch some sleep~ unfortunately, we got calls from different news channels asking “Did you seriously kill him?”, “You must have had someone do it for you?” or “Please! Tell me what happened will you?” But that wasn’t all:
Our names were in the newspaper~ but Jalal and Jawad’s were highlighted. Therefore, they were the ones who kept us from sleeping, so we insisted that they were the ones (which they were (because they killed Johnson)) and they should get the special treatment. Whenever a news crew saw them, they would just answer with a tone of glory, “We’d do anything to save our friends~ even though we liked it when Johnson went tumbling to death.”
