Chapter 2: Finding A Home
Kouta woke up in the morning he too had a nightmare almost the same as Lucy's. His family was killed also by a diclonius, one stronger than him and Kouta was the king. The eight year old knew that for the voice in his head told him so.
Breakfast had started and Tomou and the others had a cat of Kouta's it was his only friend. "NO!" Kouta yelled out. Lucy was nowhere to be found. She was outside staring at the clouds. Tomou and the others laughed as Tokima kicked the cat across the room while Tomou grabbed a bat. Celia held the cat down while Joshua held Kouta back.
"Watch closely freak, this is what happens when you mess with us." Joshua said into Kouta's ear. Kouta watched in horror as the poor cat was beaten to death.
"Oops, guess we went a little too far guys." Tomou laughed as the blood poured out of the battered cat. They smiled their last smile as Kouta yelled out.
"The ones who aren't human! The ones who are the most inhuman! ARE YOU!" Then Kouta killed them blood squirting out of their bodies in waves. Kouta heard footsteps and faced the door. It opened to reveal Lucy staring at the bodies of her friends in horror.
Damn." Kouta said thinking 'I actually like her and she's human.' He saw Lucy scream then run out of the orphanage. Kouta runs after Lucy. He saw her beside a tree crying out "No more, I can't take it anymore. Mom, brother why did you have to die" Kouta frowned as he walked towards Lucy. She spotted him then made a dash for it, but Kouta was faster. He caught up with her and used his vectors on her lifting her up into the air by the collar of her shirt careful not to choke her. "NO LET ME GO!" Lucy yelled out.
"SHUT UP!" Kouta yelled back which made Lucy silent. "I won't kill you."
"You won't?"
"Yes, I won't" He smiled sitting her down on the ground. Kouta sat down on the ground. "I killed them because they killed my cat"
"Oh my God, really!" Lucy said shocked as to why her friends would do that.
"Would you help me bury it?" Kouta asked afraid of what the answer would be.
"Yes" Lucy said smiling.
"What?" Kouta said shocked.
"I said yes." replied.
"Thank you Lucy." Kouta smiled.
They walked into the orphanage and found Kouta's cat. They walked outside once they got the cat and buried it.
"Um, where do we go from here? We can't stay here, the police will be after us" Lucy said.
"We'll kill some people in a house and stay there for a while" Kouta casually said.
"Are you serious." Lucy said looking at Kouta's face. He nodded, he was dead serious. Lucy nodded back and said "Okay." With that they went in search for a home.
"They found one and Kouta killed the residents of the home, got rid of the bodies and blood, by this time night had already fallen and both the seven year old, Lucy and the eight year old, Kouta fell asleep in the same bed exhausted from their journey.
