So today I come home from school thinking I need to go to work after taking vacation over winter break. I try calling three times and get no answer over a 30 minute period which is weird because someone should be there to answer the phone. Now I was already planning to get my work schedule changed so I could do more things I wanted do.

I take a walk down to the bake shop and find that the sign in front says we are closed. It also reads "Thank you for 50 years. Find us now at New Systems..." or something close to that.

Now I'm a little pissed and worried at the time. I walk inside finding that no one is there and that some fresh backed loafs of cinnamon bread are lying about. I grab a pencil and write a note to my boss telling him to call me on my cell phone.

I'm back home now and just kinda chillin'. Later, my mom comes home and I'm now faced with the chore of taking out the trash. While I'm doing this, I borrow my mother's earpiece and plug it into one of our portable phones. I dial up work and get an answer from my bosses' son. After some discussion, he says that we've shut down and that his father made the decision at the end of the year. I ask him why didn't anyone tell me and he says that I was away. No messages, no calls, no nothing but a final paycheck I still have yet to receive.

Now don't get me wrong, I hate the job. No really, it sucks big time. But g3etting absolutely no information and no notice on the subject shows the lack of respect that my boss has for me and all the hard time I've put in. It's downright insulting.

Now I am forced to find a new job that will hopefully offer higher or equal pay and it also is going to be farther away considering my previous location was the closest to home. It also means losing some communication with some really good friends that I will miss a lot.

This is the end of the end of the Village Bake Shop.

This is the beginning of another part of my life that I must face with unwavering strength.
