I wrote this poem ayear ago with one of my best friends. And she moved half a year ago, and life's sucked lately, so something to help me remember her. Ashlee, this is for you, and for helping me get over things.
What exactly are you? I am a monster
you say I'm depressed
yet you don't listen
you say I'm lonely
but you leave me to cry
tell me...
what exactly does that make you?
I'm falling into the pit
but you laugh and wave me away
I'm dying of starvation
yet you let the bread turn to mold in your touch
what does that make you?
my world crashes around me
but you smile
I tear at the threads holding me together
and you applaud as they hold their ground
what does that make you?
you wish me harm when that's already my life
what does that make you?
You kill me a bit at a time, until I am no longer who I want to be.
Would that make you a monster?
Are you the boogyman keeping me awake at night through my tears of sorrow?
Are you the vampire that will suck the life out of my soulless body?
Am I a monster for wanting to hurt you?
Am I a moster to stray against your lead, and wish to live...
to love, and care, and hate, and...feel
Am I a monster?
