(F.W.N.S. = Fourth Wall Narrative System.)
Here is my little random fun. A member of an RP guild asked for an example of 'breaking the fourth wall' and asked me to write up something with my character breaking the wall. I wrote this. The narrative persona is completely inspired by Excel Saga. Enjoy!
It was a dark and stormy night...
All was quiet. The town was nestled in the faint light of the street posts, occasionally being blanketed by a bright flash of lightning. A silent assailant was making his way across buildings. He had a target this evening. A hit, so to speak. He needed to be absolutely quiet so that he could sneak in and complete his task. Complete.... Silence..
“You know what narrator?! This would be so much easier if you were as slient as you’re describing my scene!”
I’m sorry, I’m just trying to play the scene. You know... so the audience knows what’s going on.
“Well, I’m pretty sure the audience get’s it.”
Are you sure?
“Audience? Do you understand the importance of silence?”
Camera: nods up and down; yes.
“See?”
Okay, I get it. I’ll be quiet.
“Good.”
Ahem... where was I... Ah yes! Joseph quickly makes his way across the rooftops, to his intended destination. He is quick! He is concise! He’s a master of stealth!
“Ahem...”
Oh... Right... Quiet.
[whispering]He is almost at his goal. He will soon wreak the triumph of victory! Victory of success!
[getting louder] Success in doing something good! Good is always a great place to be! And Joseph is there often! He is –
“Ugh. I’ve had enough of this”
smash!
Eh... he just smashed the camera... Can he do that? Is that allowed? He can’t do this to me! Someone get my agent!
