When I got up, I found myself sitting in an empty room.
It was small with the basic four walls. The room was almost like a jail cell, it had bars dividing up the room. The thing this room lacked though was there weren’t any windows. I looked around frantic, thinking to myself, why am I stuck in here? I got off the small little cushion I was laying on, and walked forward to the door. Resting my hand on the knob I reached out and pulled on the door, it didn’t budge.
I was now tugging harder with more force, nothing happen.
I walked back to the small cushion laying in the dead center of the room. It was the perfect size for a dog. I sat down on the cushion laying my head into my hands, slowly rocking back and forward. Moments away from crying, I suddenly thought of a story my mom use to tell me when I was little. Out of all the things I can be thinking of, this popped into my head. Was my conscience trying to tell me something?
The story began:
When I was younger I was often told of stories that only seem to happen in horror movies. Every night at 8:30pm my mom would go through the hallway that leads to my room, opening the door while holding a book in one hand and a glass of milk in the other.
She would then set the milk on my nightstand, that only held a small dim lamp, and next to my bed, my mom made her way to sit in the rocking chair that squeaked each time you rocked in it. I would fumble under the covers, while my mom waited patiently for me to be comfortable, it was our nightly routine.
After getting myself situated, she would begin her stories.
Her stories were often about vampires and the human they fall in love with, but it never worked out for them. In the process of the relationship between the vampire and the human, the vampire would get out of control killing his or her mate.
It was a devastating state for the vampire, often ending in results of the vampires killing many humans to turn the vampire into a monster, forgetting about all the pain the death of their mate caused them. There wasn’t any human who can withstand the thing we called the death kiss. Only one person can be a suitable mate for a vampire they were called the vampire lover. It was said that the vampire lovers blood was a magical blood, no matter how much the vampire sucks their lover the blood never drained, letting them to feed for eternity.
But that was nothing but a myth, so the vampire settles for being alone for eternity. They grew over time trying to fit in with humans, but only coming out in night. They feed on animals, living in places that were both dark during the night and the day. My mom would tell me different stories; she was in love with vampires. I liked them too, but sadly for me they weren’t real. There isn’t anything such as a human who feeds on blood.
So after I got older and turned 16 I pushed the made up stories out of my mind, forgetting that my mom had told me them when I was younger.

Something slithering on the ground caught my attention, drawing me away from my flash back. A brown long, but thin string was moving on the ground, and attached was a black butterfly shaped key. Slowly walking to the door, I put the butterfly shaped key into the lock, and the door swung open……..
