Ringo-Ichigo's random stories
I'll just be writing short stories up here about whatever I feel like. They could be fanfiction, mysteries, ghost stories, dreams, or anything. Think of this as a little smidgen of what goes on in my head.
Lullaby Chapter 5: Kidnap the Child
"What is it?" my father asked once the non-fairy guests were gone.

"It concerns your daughter. The news of the last gift will spread. When that happens, Malantha will no doubt try to negate the gift. She may merely cast another spell, or she may take more drastic actions," the oldest fairy explained.

"What do you mean by more drastic actions?" my mother inquired.

"Malantha may try to kill Aurora," the fairy elaborated. "It would be in the princess's best interest if she were to leave the palace."

"Are you suggesting that we allow you to take away our only daughter?" the king growled.

The fairy was silent for a moment. "Yes, I am."

"But she's our only child," my mother protested.

"Which is why she must be protected," the fairy answered. "By hiding the princess, Malantha would have little chance of finding her. Especially if you allow the fairies to take her."

"No, absolutely not!" my father roared, cutting the woman off. "I won't allow this!"

"But, she's offering our child protection," my mother began.

"I won't hear any more on this matter."

"As you wish, your majesty," the fairy replied with a curtsy. She vanished.

"Now what?" the youngest fairy asked as her elder appeared.

"They refused to allow us to take the child. Idiotic humans," the older fairy muttered.

"But Aurora is in danger!"

"I know. But I have a plan.

"Have you heard the rumors that some of our kind will switch their children for human babies?" Sarah, the older fairy, asked.

"Yes, but what--?" Amelia stopped as she realized what Sarah was planning. "You don't mean--"

"Yes. We are going to play into their mortal beliefs. Only we won't leave a fairy baby in Aurora's place. We'll raise Aurora as a changeling child in order to protect her."

"We're going to kidnap a princess?!" Amelia shouted in horror. "You can't be serious!"

"I am quite serious," Sarah replied. "We'll do it tonight."

The night was quiet and dark. The two fairies popped into my nursery. I cooed quietly as their faces appeared over my cradle.

"Shh, little one," Amelia admonished as she lifted me out.

"We can't take her in those clothes," Sarah whispered.

"Why not?" the younger fairy asked as she rocked me.

"They're obviously royal bedclothes, that's why," the older fairy answered. She focused her gaze on me, and my clothes changed to typical peasant garb. "There."

I sang a note. Amelia's eyes went wide as she glanced around.

"Let's go," Sarah vanished. Amelia disappeared as well with me into the night. Thus, Princess Aurora vanished into the night and remained undiscovered for a hundred and sixteen years.
