Ringo-Ichigo's random stories
I'll just be writing short stories up here about whatever I feel like. They could be fanfiction, mysteries, ghost stories, dreams, or anything. Think of this as a little smidgen of what goes on in my head.
Lullaby Chapter 3: Christening
My mother named me Aurora for two reasons. One, I was born at the dawn. Two, I had golden hair like the dawn.

(I think it might have also been there hope for a new part of their lives as parents.)

The christening was a huge affair, taking place a month after my birth. It gave other kings and queens time to travel, I suppose. All our allies were invited along with scads of fairies. Royalty, nobility, fairies, everyone was invited.

Or so my parents thought.

The fairies made a huge fuss over gifts. They gave me gifts of grace, wisdom, diplomacy (Don't ask. It still confuses me.), charm, embroidery, harp playing, art, dancing. One adventurous one even gave me the ability to speak to animals.

The options were nigh on exhausted by the time the youngest fairy stepped forward. A timid young girl with mousy brown hair and eyes. She peeked into my crib.

I cooed a lyrical coo, and she smiled. She waved her wand experimentally.

It was then that everything went spectacularly wrong. The beautiful sunny day outside vanished with an angry crack of thunder. Winds blew open the windows with a bang. Women screamed, and guests exchanged worried looks.

A fog rolled in through the windows, and I began to whimper. She appeared then, and a hush of horror spread through the great hall.

Tall and dark with slanted eyes, she approached my cradle. She brushed past the fairy and stared at me.

"Malantha?" my mother asked.

"What are you doing here?" my father demanded.

"Why did I not receive an invitation?" the evil fairy ignored their questions.

"It slipped our mind?" my mother tried to pass this lie off with a nervous giggle.

"Well. I'll just make sure that never happens again."

"Stay away from our daughter!" my father ordered.

Malantha complied with his request. She did not step any closer to me.

"On her sixteenth birthday, the princess will stab her finger. At the first drop of blood, Aurora will die." She cackled and vanished.
