Sonnet: The Nightmare. CH. 2: The Terror Begins
As Azrei, Kain, and Ric geared up, all felt an eerie vibe about what might find when the go back into section one. "so, do you think we'll find someone if we search section one." questioned Kain. "I'm positive, there was barely a little bit of fire in it, so lots of it we just pasted up." replied Azrei. "and we definitely saw shadows moving around there when we were leaving." added Ric.
Soon they where back in the elevator and at the opening of section one. they slowly went street by street, house by house, and room by room yelling at each other saying if they found something or not. "looks like nothing is here either." Azrei muttered to him self. "HEY AZ!." Ric yelled in Azreis' ear. "aagh, god dammit, Ric!" Azrei said holding his ears. "did i scare ya?'" asked Ric with a smile on his face. "no, but you almost made me deaf, you a*****e..." Azrei said pushing him back.
"did you find anything?" Ric asked Azrei. "-sigh-, nope, not a damn thing." replied Azrei. "well, still have three more buildings to check." said Ric as he left the room Azrei was in. While Azrei and Ric caught up with Kain, The girls voice started to sing again. "where's the sound coming from?" asked Kain. soon shadows started to move around the three and eerie moaning sound seemed to come from ever corner on the road they were on.
"what the..." Ric said as he tried to make out the shapes of whatever was casting the shadows. "guys, I think we're in trouble...." Azrei said as he backed up in the direction of the elevator. "how did we not see them when we were looking?" questioned Ric. "T-This can't be right, no one could have survived..." reasoned Kain. soon all the shadows seemed to follow and get closer to the three men slowly headed to the only way out.
suddenly a strange figure started to walk strangely out of the shadows. "holy...s**t!" yelled Ric. "guys, i don't think we're getting out of here..." Kain said in a worried voice. "Why not?" asked Azrei. As the three continued moving they noticed they were surrounded. "oh, son of a b***h..." Azrei said under his breath.
suddenly one reached out and grabbed Ric's arm and set it on fire. "oh, ********" Ric said pushing the thing back and attempting to put the fire out. "Get down now!" yelled an unknown voice. despite the voice being unrecognizable to the three, they ducked down. soon water started to spray the area in which they were in and the things back away if they were not cough in the water. the one soaked in water started to break into pieces and melt until only bones remained.
"Get out of there now!" the voice instructed. as they escaped, the ground started to shake and the thing backed away disappearing in to the shadows."what the ******** were those thing?" Azrei ask the group. "i don't know, but whatever, they are they don't seem human" Kain said rushing to the elevator and pushing the "up" button.
As they entered the elevator the unknown person removed his helmet and revealed his face. he had short black hair and deep blue eyes. "is everyone ok?" he asked. "I'm ok, the fire didn't get to my skin." Ric replied. "I suppose I'm fine, who are you?" questioned Kain. "my name is Kyo, I'm signed up with you team." Kyo answered. "welcome to the team then, is the other member somewhere?" Azrei asked as he removed his helmet. "yeah, she's up at the top, i came down to see where ya'll were." replied Kyo.
soon the group was at the surface and headed into the tent. "what were those things and what are we going to do?" questioned Ric. "we're going to call the damn military thats what we're going to do!" replied Kain. "whatever we do, we need to get out of here quick, where's the phone?" Azrei asked as he looked around. "it'll be useless to call anyone, I tried already." a girl said coming inside the tent. "Are you serious Megami?" Kyo asked with surprise.
"maybe you should try again.' Azrei said as he looked for a phone. "well, i can try to use my cell." Megami replied. As Megami pulled out her cell and dialed a number everyone became nervous. "yes, may i speak to Hikaru?' Megami said to the person on the other line. "Hikaru, it's Megami-" Megami was stopped mid sentence and then suddenly had a look of shock on her face. "what do you mean we where announced dead !?" Megami said confused. "they're not going to allow any one to visit the city either?" Megami continued. suddenly only static was heard on the phone. "what the...Hikaru?" Megami said trying to get more info. "they even disabled satellite communications..." Megami announced to the team.
"great, they're probably not going to send any troops until they think we actually died" Kain said as if he knew exactly what was going to happen. "t-they can't do this!." Ric said in anger. "they can and they did, their the government, they can do what they want." Kain said as he lowered his head. "so, we've been left for dead and we're stuck with those things down there?" Azrei asked peering outside the tent."Az, I know thats the situation, but it's still a little too early to be going insane." Kain said as he pulled Azrei away from the opening. "what do you mean?" asked Kyo. "when we first went down he heard a girls voice singing, i can tell he still wants to go down there and find her." Kain replied as he sat down and grabbed a glass of water. "so what if i still want to find her? we're dead meat no matter what we do now." Azrei said as he sat down.
"well, i don't know about looking for a girl, but i think we should look for other teams. reasoned Kyo. "yeah, if we all gather up and show the world we're alive, the government won't dare kill us off or try to cover things up." Megami added. "but, what do we do about those things?" Asked Ric. "we'll just have to find a way to avoi-" "Y'all can do what you want, but I'm going to look for the girl!" Azrei said cutting off Kyos sentence. "you're ******** crazy, you think you can defend your self against all of those things?; you'll die before you even find her." Kain said trying to talk him out of it. "look, whatever those things are that girl must know how to do something about them."
