Randomness
This journal is really just a bunch of different things that I plan on telling people about or things that I may want to save for later on or things that I need to remember
Oni Neko and Tenrai Neko
There are two very distinct neko (cat) kekkei genkais. One belongs to the ‘Kiraneko’ (Killer Cat) Clan. The other belongs to the ‘Tenraineko’ (Divine Cat) clan. These two clans are far different from each other, although they seem much the same. The effects and powers of the kekkei genkai differ slightly and affect two different types of beings. Despite the differences, there are some similarities in the clans as well.

Oni Neko [Literally Translated as “Demon Cat”]-

The Oni Neko kekkei genkai belongs to the ‘Kiraneko’ Clan. This clan is composed of beings from what is known as the ‘feline’ plane. This plane houses the beings that are half-cat, half-human. These beings came into existence after Shiroi Benka; member of the Shiroi Shishi (White Lion) Clan used his son, Shiroi Monosashi, to experiment on by injecting him with human DNA and removing half of hi cat DNA. This was a very risky move seeing that if it were to fail, Benka would loose his very own son. However, the experiment was a success. From there, Benkai began to use other children from the Shiroi Shishi clan as well as the other divine clans.

Once it was found that children from the planes were missing, a search was issued. These children, which had all been successfully been transformed into half-human, half-cats were found on an empty plane which would become known as the ‘feline plane’. This name was meant to be insulting because most planes were named for their exact species, but since there was no exact species on this plane and the human plane had already been taken, it was settled on that it would be named the ‘feline plane’

Banka was immediately tried and executed after being caught. The pure clans couldn’t just go and kill these, ‘half-breed’ children. That would be the wrong thing to do, and not only that; it was against their own laws. So the leaders of the pure clans met and decided that Monosashi, on of Banka would become leader of this new ‘clan’ and keep them out of the pure clans. To remind him of what he was, the pure clan leaders changed his very heart to a gemstone that would serve as his life force. If destroyed, he would be as well. However, there were few other ways to destroy him other than that.

Monosashi was too young and didn’t know anything about ruling at the time, but there was a vote and it was chosen that Kurohyou Hahaoya, the leader of the pure leopards, and her family, would raise him. He learned his leadership skills but literally tore the family apart. Hahaoya’s son, Sai absolutely despised him and left, going to war and not returning because of him. When Hahaoya asked him to take her place as the head of all the pure leopards, he refused and took his place as the head of the new breeds, the Kiraneko Clan.

With that under his wing, Monosashi lived in the feline plan, continuing to expand the clan. This got him his womanizing reputation. In order to expand the clan, Monosashi had to breed with several of the female offspring from his father’s attempts at creating the clan. He never stayed with these women for a serious relationship though. He only stayed with them until they were pregnant and then he moved on leaving them on their own. Despite his poor treatment of women at the beginnings of the clan, Monosashi regained the respect of the women of the clan as well as the other members. After the clan had its beginnings, Monosashi no longer slept with any women, leading to a life of solitude and depression.

The Oni Neko is what the kekkei genkai of the Kiraneko clan is called, or often, ‘The Kiraneko curse.’ It is because of the foul effects this kekkei genkai has as well as the belief that being a half-breed has caused their cat side to become a ‘demon cat,’ which is the entire cause of the side effects.

Members of the Kiraneko clan have the ability to call upon their cat side and turn into the breed of cat in which they came. They often show their cat side when fighting, angered, or a great amount of stress. Members will often have cat-like features they cannot hide such as their cat-like eyes and teeth. When placed under great amounts of stress or at their own choosing they may half-transform or fully transform into their cat side. This is at the cost of either half of a year or a year off their lifespan. . Members also have heightened senses but not by much. Members have often fallen ill after transforming, it being too much for their body to take. Some have even died from the transformation process, it being far too much for their body to handle.

Tenrai Neko [Literally Translated as “Divine Cat”]-

The Tenrai Neko kekkei genkai would belong to those of the Tenraineko clan, the ‘Divine Cat’ clan. The members of this clan are of pure status. They’re blood has not been tainted and they have existed since the God of Creation placed each on they’re own separate clan. This clan is further divided into smaller clans. These clans are each located on their own individual planes and are their entirely own species. So for example, from the Tenraineko clan comes the main three clans, the Tora (Tiger) Clan, the Kurohyou (leopard/panther) clan, and the Tategami (Lion) Clan. These three clans are considered the leaders of all the pure cat clans. Whatever decisions the leaders of these clans make will go for the rest. Seeing there are so many different species of pure cats, there are many different planes, but all are around these three planes, which are the largest.

There have always been disputes between these clans, despite them all being pure. Fighting between clans had caused three great neko wars. A great neko war only occurs when one or more of the three main clans get’s involved. These wars usually last hundreds of years and t the point where no one remembers why they were fighting in the first place. This often causes unnecessary killing to occur and just more bad blood between certain clans. The three main clans however have never really disputed all that much with each other, never causing something of chaos.

Even though those three clans seemed to coexist in peace, in reality, whenever they met every hundred years or so, fierce arguments would often break out between the leaders and even fights. One time the fight got so bad that one of the leaders was actually killed. The mate of that leader stepped down from power and made his eldest son the leader of the clan. Once this had occurred, more control started to come into meetings, that event somewhat giving the leaders a wake up call that they needed to start acting more civilized, even if they were animals by heart.

As of late, the three main clans have become more open with the Kiraneko clan, before they wanted nothing to do with that ‘abomination of a clan’. They only found that clan as a pure insult, seeing that; a traitor made that clan from their own clan. Soon however their eyes slowly started to open as one of their very own that had abandoned them because of Monosashi, Kurohyou Sai, started to help him establish that clan and make it well on it’s way to a very strong power.

Unlike the Kiraneko clan, the Tenraineko clan openly welcomes their kekkei genkai. It is literally translated as the “Divine Cat’ kekkei genkai, which in a way suits the clan, seeing that they are the divine cat species. The kekkei genkai really has no side effects do to the fact that this kekkei genkai is much more than just a kekkei genkai when it is concerning this clan; it’s more of a way of life. In a sense, the members of this clan are cats, within a spiritual human body and on a much more intelligent level, even higher than normal humans.

Members of the Tenraineko clan have the ability to call upon their cat and turn into the breed in which they are. They often show their cat side when fighting, angered, or under a great amount of stress. But they also show their cat side most other times as well, showing affections such as purring. Members will often have cat-like features that they are able to hide such as ears and a tail. There are features as well that they cannot hide such as their cat-like eyes and teeth. When placed under large amounts of stressed, members are forced to phase and have a year taken off their lifespan, however when they half transform or fully transform at their choosing, they will gain half a year or a year on their lifespan. Members also have heightened senses, even more so than the Kiranekos because their kekkei genkai is so pure. There is no human to get in the way of the senses. Since the transformation comes so natural to them, there are no reports of death within any of the members, except for young children who were far to young to handle the effects of the transformation.
