“Have you asked the Master about it?”
“No, why should I? Yeah, yeah. I know. That whole master and slave thing. If it makes you happy Azu I’ll tell him when he wakes up. Meantime, how badly am I leaning on you at the moment?”
“You know the answer if you think about it but right now you are more weary than anything else. If this ‘school’ is a vigorous activity I would leave it for at least another two days. Give your body a chance to recover more fully. You are still in pain if you would but allow yourself to feel it.”
“Are you feeling it?”
“No. It seems you’ve managed to block it out for the moment. Do you wish to deactivate the block?”
“Definitely. I’d like to know how far I have left to heal.” There was a strange rippling and suddenly I felt a deep ache. It was a dim remnant compared to how I’d been at the Gate House but it was tiring.
-Guess I didn’t need Azu to guide me after all… or I tapped her mind without knowing again.-
“Hey, Azu, do you want to shield your mind from me a bit? It seems like I’m tapping your knowledge like I would my own.”
“That wasn’t me. I think you used one of your new abilities. I will need to study it more but I believe it is like instinct. It guides you to what you seek and what would be the best decision to make given your options. Such an amazing and powerful ability.”
“I… see. Interesting. All right then, I guess today I’m cleaning my room and finishing off more of my schoolwork. Thanks for your help Azu. Unless you want to hang about and keep me company, you can go home now.”
“I… will stay, if you don’t mind.”
“Fine with me. I can’t clean till the Brat rouses and rises so you can be my sounding board and proofreader while I’m school working. Come on.”
