“Ofelia!” The girl in question looked up and smiled as her brother came into view.
“Dante! Look what I found!” she giggled. She held up a small violet flower, her smile widening as he chuckled, a sound she loved. The eldest of her two brothers, he was a full head taller than she and a good six years older. With his pale blue eyes, so pale they looked white, he smiled back at her and lifted the six year old into his arms. With a happy squeal, Ofelia wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek quickly, the raven black locks of hair falling into her face and tickling her nose.
Dante ran a hand through her darkening blond hair and sighed. She'd be a brunette someday, of that he was certain. The poor girl. Her brown eyes sparkled in the sunlight of the early evening.
“Have you seen your brother?” He asked her, knowing how she'd respond.
“Silly, Dante! He's your brother to!”
“Really? I never would have guessed.” He said, smiling as he nuzzled her slightly, extracting another giggle from her. Nothing would ever stop him from loving the girl in his arms. Some would call it wrong, but he called it perfection. He'd die for her if it meant she'd live.
“Now... where did Rosco go?” He muttered as he looked around the spacious area around the small lake. They were the only family for miles in every direction so the land was pretty much theirs. A familiar white blond suddenly bounded up beside them and nearly tackled the two.
“Sorry I'm late big brother!” Came Rosco's energetic reply, his grey eyes full of life. Dante chuckled.
“Alright, alright... let's go home. Mother and Father must be wondering where we are...” Dante said, ruffling his younger brother's hair. Rosco was three years younger than Dante and three years older than Ofelia making him the exact middle child.

That had been twelve years ago, when they still had a family. It wasn't soon after that that Ofelia's favorite brother snapped and took a Katana to their parent's necks, killing them with ease and precision. It was that day that her love for her brother turned to fear and a searing hate she believed would always be there. How wrong she was.
“Rosco!... Rosco! Where'd my book bag go?” Ofelia called from her room, searching frantically. Her now twenty one year old brother walked up the stairs and sighed, leaning against the door frame to her room. His silvery blond hair fell into his perfect grey eyes as he smiled slightly.
“It's where you left it last night... by the kitchen table.” He replied, making her jump and turn around. She flushed red slightly and nodded.
“Right... man I hate the first day of school!” She laughed, rubbing the back of her neck.
“Yeah well... look at is this way... it's your last year. Then off to college.” Ofelia frowned at him.
“You didn't go to college...”
“Yeah well... I'm a different story.” He said smiling sadly. She regretted her words and went over to hug her brother, the one that had bothered to stay around and care for her after he left. Rosco noticed her sudden change in mood and frowned.
“You're thinking of him again... aren't you?” Ofelia let go of him and looked away shamefully. No matter how hard she tried she'd love him, but not just as a brother. Rosco knew she harbored feelings for their murdering brother that went deeper than that of family ties.
“He left us, Ofelia. And the b*****d's never coming back. Let the subject rest and move on. It'll be better for your health as well as your mind.” Rosco said a little more forcefully than he'd intended before leaving back down the stairs.
