From Pokemon Fangirl To Pokemon Trainer |

Okay...so it's been a while.
My extended absence was for good reason I guess, I was in Hawaii, enjoying my time and then came back to some really haphazard cosplay. But I once again got time to spend with Li-chan, which was awesomeness. And then it was Shadow's birthday and therefore we all went wakeboarding, which was fun and worth trying actually. heart
I'm surprised I actually got up once. To me, it's harder than snowboarding. I was really excited though and I did end up doing all right for a first timer, but what amazed me more was seeing how talented Shadow was. He's got some serious skills. 3nodding
The week before, I went to MikomiCon, as promised, and I did perform, and I did a short improvized skit with my lovely new cosplay partner, Makimachi Motoko. I met her at the previous MikomiCon, and we became friends, yet because of my lack of keeping in touch it wasn't until late summer that we found each other on cosplay.com. Good timing too. heart
She and I did a little skit which was warmly welcomed, especially by the Fruits Basket fangirls...and I think I heard a couple guys in there. It was called, "Rent a Sohma," which really speaks for itself. xp
Anyhow, MikomiCon was a lot of fun! I was surprised how packed it got on Saturday. I saw the old hardcores and newbies frolicking together. It was beautiful. heart I spent Saturday hanging out with my buddy Pikmin Link, and she had an artist table and was selling some lovely art and hats. I sat next to her, helping with whatever I could, and it was fun company the entire time. XD
So we had quite some adventure there at MikomiCon, mainly from the frequent kabooms I heard coming from the side where the music was playing, and overall some real Phoenix Wright Objection Dances. Then it came to your typical cosplay and artist drama, and then basically it ended beautiful with masquerade and performance. Lovely, and I had a blast. XD
Sadly, Shadow couldn't come to MikomiCon due to an outbreak of homework, so he stayed home and recovered from it. Yet he called frequently to chat with me and Motoko-chan and the others about how the convention was going.
But yeah, we're preparing for Ani Magic, then Comiket, and hopefully, more to come with Anime Los Angeles (Fourth year for me, baby! PERFECT ATTENDANCE! XD), Fanime, Anime Expo (depending on schedules and stuffers), Tomo-Dachi (that I recently attended), Anime Overdose, and a lot more to come. I'm also considering Otakon and Anime NEXT for the 2008 schedule.
But yeah, meanwhile at MikomiCon, I was promoted from Pokemon fangirl to:
A REAL POKEMON TRAINER. BOO YEAH.
XDDD Li-chan made these for me, one for me, obviously the one that says Kagura, and Shadow got one with his picture. Since he couldn't come, Li-chan had to take some guesses, yet being super awesome, she nailed his picture right on. Even his colors! (He's a huge Shadow the Hedgehog Fan)
As for me, yup, that's my portrait right there. XD That picture was taken when I was a guest in the series. XD I wish!
