*happy national talk like a pirate day everyone!*
She backed slowly toward the cave entrance. Each step the leopard took forward she took one back. She was almost to the cave entrance when suddenly there was a voice. “Do not be afraid. I am not here to hurt you.”
She looked around for the source of the voice for it seemed as if it had come from everywhere and yet, at the same time, nowhere. Could it be the leopard? She thought to herself, no that ridiculous animals can’t talk. “You are exactly right,” came the voice again. Then out of the shadows stepped a woman. She was tall with long brown hair. Her soft blue eyes studied Layna with interest as she stepped forward to pet the cat in front of her. “ This is Simetra she is my pet. She can be very protective at times.”
“But how did you know?”
“I can read minds of course all of us here can.”
“But where is here?”
“Oh! I am sorry. How rude of me. You are in Altiaterra.”
“How did I get here?”
“All of your questions will be answered in a moment but first we have to leave. It is not safe here.”
