Strayed Ends Pg 2 By: Desert Mirage
‘Damn it Hitomi! Why this one time did you have to be right? Why didn’t I just stay home tonight, gone out another night for this? I am going to die by this amateur’s hand who cannot even strike properly!’ Her mind screamed.
Kay moved backwards into her shadows to try and give herself an advantage. Her arms trembled slightly from the force that had been brought upon them when she blocked Audun’s sword strike.
“What’s the matter little puppy? Gone to hide in the dark like the coward that you are?” He challenged.
Kay tore out of the darkness swinging both of her swords in unison at Audun. She violently let out a scream from the depths of her throat as she lunged toward him. Unrenowned to her, she had risen to his bait.
For a moment Kay did not see the trap, but it was too late by the time she did. As she had tore out of the darkness, Audun had positioned himself in the corner of a wall. As he moved to the right she was trapped in the corner. Swinging around, her back was now to wall. A place no rusher ever wanted to be in, and a corner no less. She would not be able to get a decent swing or avoid any direct blows.
“Kieuseru!” she spat.
Audun looked appalled, he ground his teeth and clenched his sword in anger.
“How dare you think you can curse at me like that? You’re nothing more than a beaten puppy who needs to be put down. You hear that Kay? You’re going to die today!”
“How…disgustingly poetic,” she rasped.
Getting a solid hold on her two katana she pressed the hilts to her stomach and charged out of the corner. On a last stand she wanted nothing more than to run Audun through.
Her hopes, her prayers, were not answered and turned against her in violent force.
Audun knew this; he saw how she would attack. There was no speed or hiding when you were in a corner. Kay’s tricks would not work on him, not today anyway. Swinging his sword down he side stepped the attack and smashed both of Kat’s swords out of her hands. She fell forward from the attack and Audun was there in the blink of an eye. One of his large booted feet smashed toe first into Kay’s stomach.
Mind reeling Kay pulled her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around her middle. She turned over onto her knees so not to throw up, her eyes clamped shut she pressed her forehead into the cold stone walkway. The copper taste of blood made itself known and Kay sputtered just trying to get a breath past the blood in her throat. Audun came in for a second attack. He had the great Kay on her knees practically crying at his feet. There would be no need for his sword yet or even ever. With a grin he advanced on the withering figure in front of him. Grabbing her arm he hauled her halfway up before trying to throw her into the side of the building she was trying to use to stand.
Barely catching herself, Kay’s arm scraped up against the wall. She turned to face Audun with fire in those eyes; what a sight she was. Straightening up with the help of the stonewall Kay grinned. There was a trail of blood down Kay’s jaw from her mouth; she couldn’t even open her eye on the side of her face that the metal pipe has smashed. It was already a dark purple, almost black color. Her silver hair, broken from the string that held it back hung across her face. Blood spattered and war ready; if looks could kill she would be the winner right now.
