It doesn't seem to take much
For you to tonice a girl like her
It doesn't seem to be fair
But nothing is for sure
I see the way you look at her
WIth that soft gleam in your eyes
I can feel the vibration of your emotions
Whenever she is close by
It's not your fault that I'm not
The perfect girl for you
I've always hoped to be the one but
I guess I always knew
You've been such a good friend
And apparently that's all you'll ever be
But, as hard as it is to admit it
You've always had a way with me
I couldn't help but watch from afar
Even though I knew that it would do no good
I kept hoping even when they told me
That I shouldn't
Am I a fool for believing that I too
Deserve my happily ever after
Or am I simply misguided and
Going about this the wrong way
It may be for the best but
