Today was... amazing and terrible. I feel really stupid posting this, because I feel like I'm attention seeking, but I'm not.
The morning started out with a simple panel with funny stories, set up and leg work after that, and then ramen eating contests. First one was normal, people ate like nasty pigs, and I thought I should probably use something to keep the table clean...
But we'll come back to that.
So then I had to set up a room for autographs with Chuck Huber, Brad Swaile, and Christina Vee (Look them up if you don't know who they are, they're voice actors). So being on Programming, and since no one from Guest Relations was around, we were forced to wait around to make sure the guests showed up. First in was Brad Swaile. So, um... Brad Swaile was totally my VA (Voice Actor) crush when I was still into anime because he did Quatre in Gundam Wing and Nghtcrawler in X-Men: Evolutions. And somehow Nightcrawler was brought up, and movement was discussed...
Leah: Can't you just teleport?
Brad: Oh yeah... close your eyes! *Runs a few feet away* Bamf! I teleported!
It was fun, and then we chatted before his signing session and he drew Nightcrawler evo style in my program, and I was very very happy.
So in the mean time, I was expecting Wolfeh to be coming, and I kept looking for her... until I found out she wasn't coming. I moped for a while.
So second ramen eating contest, this guys drops half of his ramen on the napkins I had decided to put down to protect the table, so he picks up the napkin and eats it! He won, and it was nasty.
Third one was boring and not worth mentioning.
So second signing session was in the hallway, which was going on around the third contest, and I once again had to help and wait for guests. This signing was with Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, and Michelle Ruff. And this time I was asked to stay because there was no GR staff around... So I sat and chatted with Travis and Laura, who are extremely funny.
Directly after them, Aaron Dismuke and Melissa Fahn were supposed to be signing, but Melissa was delayed at the airport so Brad Swaile came down instead until she arrived. But before that, this strange woman walks up to me and asks my name, just as I'm about to leave. So I tell her, she asks if I'm working the signing table, I say yes hesitantly, and she tells me that I am in charge of Aaron and keeping him in line.
. . . What?
Well, it turns out that Aaron's handler and his mom were going to Wal-Mart, and Aaron will do anything the fangirls ask him, such as licking a camera. (Incidentally, they had the video removed for his sake...)
So I was keeping a 16 year old, flirtatious boy in line. It was really really fun, and he's a really great guy. He made sure to ask EVERY fan their name and sign things to them. He kept telling people I was abusing him because I wouldn't let him do embarrassing stuff. In the end I shot him with nerf guns before escorting him to his next panel and going to have drinks with his handler.
Which brings us to now.
God I love Kahlua and cafe mocha....
