“No, Ms. O’Hara, I have no clue as to who would dare murder a mortal on my turf. See, I care for good publicity among you humans, and anyone in my clan would be foolish to go against my wishes and do something like this. But I will look into it, my dear,” he stated in that same annoyingly calm tone of his as he stared deeply into her eyes. Gabriella growled and lowered her gun to her side. Glaring at him, she said, “Stop acting like we’re good friends, I would never stoop so low as to befriend a vampire.” He raised his hands up in the air as if in surrender. “My deepest apologies, Ms. O’Hara,” he apologized with a little bow of his head. “Anyways, thanks for your time, have a good day,” she said stiffly and turned to leave. “I’ll be seeing you around,” he replied with a little wave. As she left his club room, she didn’t like how sure he sounded of that.
The next few days went by surprisingly slow and very uneventful.
