Lesson 2 'Slash and the many Fan-girl temptations...' |

Second in my Life lessons.
Have you noticed that Teenagers suffer from not only angst but also overwhelming hero-worship? Jock-like Boys and their football heros, Preppy/Chav girls and their Pop-Idols? Mosher Boys and their Guitar Legends and Alternative Girls and their...many...strange obessions.
I'm guilty of that last one. sweatdrop As I'm sure many girls are. But what I find interesting is that the majority of us like or have at least indulged in some Slash related discussions/fanfics. I have in a couple of different arenas...Harry Potter when I was 13. And last year I did read a few Rasmus ones...but the thing is, once the novelty had worn off, it was kinda creepy- The Harry Potter one was purely out of I had high regrads for cannon (so I moved off that and onto Ginny/Harry pairings). The Rasmus ones...well...in an alternate universe it makes sense that Aki and Lauri would make a good couple, but right now, its kinda weird. I mean, Lauri likes the ladieess... stare I'm by no means saying I'm against Gay people! Love is Love and all that! But the thing is, Slash, its not real- fans make it up.
I get that, you proberbly get that...but there are some people who don't. Sure those rumors about them sharing a hotel room are interesting to say the least, but I always put that down as Pauli and Eero not being party people (Pauli strikes me as shy and we already know Eero is against drinking and drug-taking), so naturally if they wanted to go out partying, they wouldn't need to wake the other up- plus its just good ecconomics- saves money that they can later blow. whee
It's all in good fun really, but when people take their obessions to the extream it just gets worring...
So Lesson number two is: Don't start thinking what other people make up for fun is real...

Lesson Number 1: Respect In Music; Rock's 'Sub-Genres' |

stare I'm not going to lie to you; I couldn't give a damn if people read this or not. But if by some chance, that someone DOES then I don't expect abuse.
Here we go;
I, being of the age where you start rebelling more, completely understand when you want to start listening to "Rock Music". So when the band that inspires you, and you have your frist big fandom, it's like your in a bubble that's all rose-tinted and wonderful- and then some idiot who thinks their better than you comes along and says "Your such a pathetic n00b"
Do you know how irritating that is to someone that's new and impressionable to this world of "Rock". I don't understand that just because YOU don't like the band doesn't mean the world should follow in your godly wake. Damn it, why should you even be saying this?
Okay so if your reason for saying this was; 1. Their not what you deem to be "Rock" 2. Their fans are all under the age of 20...or so it would seem.
Then I your just as a big n00b as your saying the kid is.
So, Music "ROCK" gods out there; SHUT UP AND KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!
This has been lesson 1.
