A Poem Post <3
Amazonian Aspirations
My left arm is straight, a perfect sideways stance and a squared off shape. I am a Grecian statue
Unused to the fifty pound draw, my arm sways dangerously under the strain of something unfamiliar.
The invisibility of An arrow in flight betrayed by a twang and swoosh. The men stare as I hit the mark.
The Optimist
Fairy tale dreamer, your golden eyes glow. Close your eyes, and drift so gently away. How can you let the world pass you so slow?
Your heart must have stilled quite long ago against the rules you are told to obey. Fairy tale dreamer, your golden eyes glow.
What’s in the world, worth the trouble to know? Feathers like statements float down and so stray. How can you let the world pass you so slow?
With head to the sky, green grass far below, you stretch out your hands for the sun each day. Fairy tale dreamer, your golden eyes glow.
Make freedom your blanket and ever it grows. Your feet travel light dancing where they may. How can you let the world pass you so slow.
Your mind is a turning and shifting show. You jump the fences that get in your way. Fairytale dreamer, your golden eyes glow, how can you let the world pass you so slow?
When We Were Dreamers.
As the years grow, something else dies away. We reveled in the happiness we wore, exposed plainly and unashamedly on our faces. Rain was our shower, Grass was our bed, our steeds were white, our swords were sharp. Though it is lost forever in the tide hastening us to the end at the feet of good ‘ol Pete, as Matt said: Keeper of the keys of the kingdom of heaven. We still blink up in the sunlight that shows through the tree tops and remember how we would take Youth by the arm and spin her around like our favorite dolls.
