My Insanity
My daily ramblings and issues concerning me and my world.

The winter air was cold against her skin, the woman's dark blue eyes darted around beneath black bangs as she quickly moved down the street. Her clothes were tattered and there were smudges of dirt on her legs and hands. Her arms were filled with small pieces of food, ragged clothes, and suprisingly...books. She silently slipped in to a house that was in suprisingly good condition in contrast of those that were around it.

Crumbling and falling in to ruin....just like our honor and morals. Leaving us scratching in the dirt.

"I'm home." She smiled as she closed the door behind her, the room was light and cheerful. Her students looked up and smiled, their worn faces surrounding bright and glittering eyes. The older one looked at her from where they were helping the smaller ones with their lessons. "I brought some food..and look!" She laid the books on the table, eyes smiled even brighter then their faces. She had taken them all in after the war, either lost or forgotten until she had found them.

"It's Shakespear." One said as he picked it up and reading the title, "Hamlet."

"Very good, Motif." She said smiling and placed the food on the table, "Eat up." She said as she moved away to view their progess.

"You eat already?" A small boy asked as he looked over at her, he said his name was Kiyoshi. No more then four or five, he was so small for his age that she would say that he was much younger. He had become her favorite of the group, his cuteness won him over.

Yuri smiled softly and ruffled his coal black hair. "I ate before I left." She said as she leaned over his shoulder to look at what he had written on his small chalk board. It was a lie, food was scarce during the winter and so she often went without a meal or two so that her students could have plenty. "Kiyo....curve your 'g' more other wise it'll be a 'q'." She said softly as she took his hand and showed him, her hand easily dwarfing his. "See....?" He nodded faintly and recieved a pat on his thin shoulder before she moved away to look at the other's progress.

They all jumped when a knock echoed from the front door, Yuri's face and body went tense as she looked at the door. Who would bother them here? She looked at the olders and nodded, they took it as a sign and started gathering all of the children up to go to the back rooms. "Come on, Kiyoshi." Motif urged, he picked the young boy up and held him against his chest as Yuri moved toward the door.

Her fingers reached down and snatched a piece of chalk off of the table that the children had worked at, she could feel the silky soft texture against her skin. She prayed that she would not have to use it. "Who is it?" She whispered at the crack of the door, she kept herself against the wall beside the door.

"Open up." A male voice cracked. Yuri frowned, the voice was unfamiliar and coarse. What was going on?

Nothing is sacred in this world anymore. Our own race has raped it of it's innocence.

She was unprepared for a bullet blowing apart the lock just above her hand, pieces of metal cutting her flesh, she moved her hand just before another bullet broke through the handle where it had once rested. She fell back, her hand already moving to strike the floor with the chalk. The door blasted open as a person kicked it in....she could hear her students screaming out in fear at the sounds. Her vision was filled with the silouttes of people....men....all looking desperate with the glitter of guns in their hands.

The flash of her alchemy, their screams echoed as stone spears thrust through their flesh. Gunshots exploded through the hallway...blood splattered the ground, both hers and theirs...the faint sounds of chalk hitting the floor filled her ears as she dodged backwards, their sights following her the entire way....more screams as spikes rushed up from the ground... more gunshots and mind numbing pain....her student's screams....and her own scream in among them.

A bullet slammed her against the stone wall, blood coursed down her form as she slid down to the ground and sat upon the floor. The chalk in her fingers rolling away as she looked up with pain clouded orbs as blood pooled beneath her. Why were they doing this? "Fear not, Child...your sacrifice will help us defeat those damnable bastards." The man said as he raised the gun at her.

"Yuri-sensei!" A small voice cried out, her eyes darted over to where Kiyoshi fought against the men. Their arms easily restraining the children who tried to come to her aid. "No...please...don't hurt her!"

"Kiyoshi...." She could hear the creak as the trigger pulled back, she looked at him with a pleading expression. She didn't want him to see her...to see her die. "Don't look....please.....don't look....."

Do we perhaps....deserve this as our punishment? Are we truely deserving?
