OMG! It Was Horrible!

Oh, man! What a disaster. It started thursday night when the power went out. I was pissed! But then, I looked out the window and saw a ton of snow. I was like "O snap!" I heared it was goin to be measureable but this much!? Then we (my dad, my brother and I) were scrambling around for flashlights. Okay, not scrambling, in fact it was only me. An indeed, did I find one.

A little later the second phase began. For starters, it sounded like the trees were cracking off in the distance. Then it got louder and louder. My dad could tell that the trees around are house were snapping and cracking. It was confirmed when I shined the flashlight out the back window tree branches everywhere. It would only get worse so the first thing we thought of was getting the comp out of the room.

The next morning (Friday), my dad woke us up and said "Time for cleanup!" And the first thing we thought was it was going to be bad. That word didn't even describe it. It was a catastrophy. What a mess. And anyone who lives in the affected area knows how bad it was.

So, we cleaned up some and and shoveled the driveway. Thankfully for us, a guy came by with a plow attached to a front loader and cleaned the road after a buddy down the street got the tree out of the way. Phew! There was still more to do and three times as much in the backyard.

The next day it was a bit better, we even had a chainsaw. During this whole ordeal, my ma was in Atlanta trying to get here. Of course, she couldn't go to Buffalo Inter. so she went to Rochester and my granma got her from there. Apparently, my granma thought it was bad at her house. Well, it wasn't!. Not even close.

Afterward, my ma and I went over to my granma's and spent a few nights there 'cause they had power. I even took my 13'' and my PS2 there to get in some gaming.

Just this morning (Tuesday) I came back and spent the rest of the day here because NYSEG was supposed to get power back up by 10pm latest. While the rest of Alden had power, our little street didn't. On top of this, my sister in Louissiana was getting pounded by tornados. What a week. Just a few hours ago the power came back on. Yet, still there are trees around after almost five days of cleanup. We are never going to be the same.

Katrina, you ain't got nuttin' on this!
