Kalium19's Babblings
As the title implies it , don't expect coherency ...
Easter Bunny
Oh, so my last entry was in 2008! If that doesn't prove that I don't "get" the logic behind blogging, I don't know what does. Honestly, I have this feeling of redundancy wherever in the Web I go. That's also why it took me so long to get a Facebook account (I got mine last year). In fact, I would have forgotten about the blog feature of this site if it weren't for the Easter event.

Now time for some ranting. I know Gaia is an American Website, but geez, do every one of their services have to block content for other countries? Licenses and copyright, my arse. The more they do this, the more people are compelled to pirate. This is the age of the Web, folks, nothing is safe! And nothing has got to be safe really. I bet this is why Free Software proponents call DRM "Digital Restrictions management. They said the same things about home taping, home videos, and now the Web. How much have the sales been hurt, really? Besides, there's always the risk of reverse psychology and triggering Streisand's Syndrome. If people think you are being smug enough, they can and will retaliate by pirating more of your stuff. I have an old TV set (one of the last CRT's), but should I ever get a new one, I will not buy any movie on blu-ray, now that I know the disks have built-in copy protection.

I believe the power of the Internet itself can create a torrential wave big enough to drown all those who seek to limit it for their personal gain- all it needs is dedication.
