Hey! I've finally got a new poem!! And it only took a year!!
Here it is: Consequences of a Habit
Saturday afternoon, wishing it were warm The first snow came down that night A nice little pair, yet a pair that was torn Mother and daughter they were, often faced with plight
"I need another pack of smokes..." Mother said to daughter as she grabbed the keys They entered the cold and dark car without a coax Hands creating friction to avoid figures to freeze
Ten minutes later: arrival at Mobile What would come next: truley futile
To home they drove, on the cold icy road Seatbelts locked, and danger in their way Mother to daughter, a life would be owed This fact provided as the car began to sway
Shattered glass, and shattered dreams A tragic accident would be daughter's end All because of a habit, a life lost through the seams Truley this is not what Mother could ever intend
She left Daughter's head-stone, with pretty roses there Through the snow the dirt was still showing Mother quit her habit, although a lean conscious she could not bare Leaving a dedication for her daughter: gone with wind blowing
