Have you ever questioned who you are? It's a strange question at that, but when you think about it, haven't you ever wondered what made you - you?
Let's step outside the box for a minute.
All of us, and if not, then most of us, know of the popular videogame, The Sims. If you don't, then here's a brief summary about it. You create a fictional character through a large customization process, build the character a life, and watch it adapt to the choices you set out for it. Now you may be thinking "What does this have to do with anything you're trying to say?"
What I'm trying to say, is that what if the life we see around us is that of a controlled life that we adapted to because of a hierarchy? Similar to The Sims game. What if there is someone, or a group of people, controlling us behind a concealed curtain, forcing our seemingly normal decision-making practices? Since we are outside of the box, I'll also add in the game's notorious green crystal icon used to control the character.
Could this represent our brain -- conscience, even?
Are we but a simple tool in a fictional reality for mere amusement?
Well the answer is simple: we don't know. And the scarier question: do we not know because we can't conclude solid facts from it, or is it just the programming we've received and adapted to in this made up world that rejects any idea not given to us by our creator's customization?
But since there are an infinite amount of possibilities working with an infinite amount of dimensions unbeknown to us, then could this be a fact?
Is this a fact?
Hard to say, because as I'm typing this, there's another reality where I'm eating chips.
Folding clothes.
Sleeping.
On a space expedition.
Mining.
It's amazing to think of all the other fabrications in space that you take part in at the very moment your eyes read this.
As a matter of fact, is there another dimension where this is happening?
But that would mean there's another reality where that doesn't happen.
So which is right and which is wrong?
Is there a right and wrong?
Ha, it's like a paradox meets another paradox.
I'll call this The Sim Theory.
Or... in another reality, maybe I'm calling it Chicken-Noodle Pot Pie.
