Yesterday, Saturday I had a pleasure of playing with the opera division of my academy. We had a very nice small performance of excerpts from three of Mozart operas.
We had performed sections of the Magic Flute, Don Giovanni and Marriage of Figaro. Singers were fabulous and brought many happy smiles on our audience's faces.
Being a concertmistress put me in charge of leading our school's "elite" - players who are enrolled in a non-profit orchestra based outside of school. I must say that I am slightly ashamed of myself as I did not find enough time to finish learning the very finale of our program, but I am delighted to say that we had an amazingly talanted pianist on our side who made it possible for us to keep in time.
I am looking forward to our next concerts, sadly without singers this time.
P.S. I should prepare for my gigs as well....
