hm...
On the spot free-write that just happens to be a brief tid-bit of a Tom fanfic.
"I don't know if I can live like this Tom, I love you but this world, your world, just doesn't approve of me..." I turn away from him feeling the tears form in my eyes but before I even take a step he grabbed my hand pulls me towards him.
"My dear, all we need is each other. Nothing matters, nothing. You are the only world I want to live in...BZZ! BZZ! BZZ! BZZ!"
"Haha, very funny Tom...Tom?" I look up to him his face starts to distort, blurring away as if it were, "No! Tom! Don-!" I jump straight out of my bed, goosebumps invading my entire body, "God dammit! Not again..." I yelled as look at my alarm clock. "Dream crusher..." I whispered as I slam the snooze button and prepare for work.
"Ugh, you're so lucky to have a dream about Tom! I mean, what I would have given to have had a dream about him last night, my dream last night was that I was ordering a Starbucks and drinking my coffee upside down." my friend, Megan, was telling me as we ate together during our hour lunch.
"Haha, that's not that bad of a dream Meg," I teased, "but I'm sure your dream would have been a bit more 'elaborate' with some certain scenes, while mine feel like I was in some sort of slow chick flick." I say with a bit of slight disgust. "Ah well, it was sadly only a dream." I say with a sigh as I take a sip of my lemonade.
It wasn't before long that during our conversation for our mutual 'obsession' with Tom and basically every other movie Marvel superhero my lunch hour had ended sooner than I had expected to. "Oh my God!! That can't be the time! I have to go!" I yell as I toss money on the table to pay for my share of lunch and grabbed my bags.
"Hey, Ophelia ! Where's the fire?" Meg asked as she saw me fiddle with my bags of papers sticking out in every which way.
I laugh jokingly before answering, "Remember? I have a class to teach today, my first class I can teach. On my own! See ya' later!" I call out as she replies with a 'call me about the details' scream. 'I can't be late! I just can't be!' I yell in my head as I start running down the five blocks that lead to the university.
"I just had to pick today, Today! To go out and eat lunch!" I accidentally say out loud as my phone starts ring, "Ah! The warning alarm!" I scream as I reach for it in pocket to shut the damn thing off, 'The last thing I need is the remind-' "Uff!"
"I'm sorry!" I say as I drop my phone, and my bag, and my papers. "Ugh great...At least most of these are stapled together." I say as start to hurriedly gather my things together when the stranger started to help me gather the papers together.
"That's alright miss, I'm sorry I should have watched were I stood. I, uh, shouldn't really be standing in the middle of the sidewalk." said the polite man as he looked through the topics of the papers. "You've got quiet a lot of classical readings on your list." said the man as he handed me my reading lists.
"Yeah, I know it's a lot but this is also a suggestion list so my students can pick and choose from these selections." I say to him as I start to replace my items in my bag.
"Oh, so you're a teacher?"
"Close, I'm a professor, well trying to be." I say as I grab the last few papers from his hand. "Thanks, oh shoot I'm going to be late!" I said as I look up from watch to see who I was talking to. "Thanks again, M-mr. Hiddleston." I somehow manage to say as he laughed and then looked down on the ground to noticed that I had scuffed my knees and that they were bleeding.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" he apologizes as he removes a handkerchief from his pocket and starts to wipe up the blood from my knees and shins.
"U-uh, please y-you don't have to." I whispered as my face starts to redden from the slight embarrassment of having run into Tom Hiddleston and not even notice. 'I can't believe this is happening! I must be dreaming now! There's NO way that'd he would be here! Why would he? Oh wait! There is a downtown and college conference of literature that mentioned that both movie and theater Shakespearian actors were asked to visit to...'
"Uh, Mr. Hiddleston..."
"Please, call me Tom, after all I just did make you bleed and now I'm going make you late for your class." he said in the most sweet voice I thought imaginable.
"Um, Tom. I was wondering, that is if you have the free time, that perhaps you can escort me to class a-and speak to the students about literature and Shakespeare. Of course, if you can." I said to him not wanting to sound like I was imposing.
Tom looked at me, he was more handsome in person than in any photo that I have seen him in. "I don't see why not, this is my free time until the evening." he said to me as he pulled out his arm to escort me to the building. He led me, well I mostly led the way, to my class and although I was about ten minutes late I was pretty sure they were forgiving once they saw Tom helped me with my bags and open the door for me I knew I had them stunned.
The hour of class went off without a hitch as used Tom as my excuse for being late while he explained his love of literature and its importance in everyday life.
"Thank you for helping me out with them and having to put up with me." I said to him as put my now light load of papers into my bag. "Oh I just hope that the rest of the semester goes well." I say as I start to clean the whiteboard.
Tom laughs and walks up behind me and spins me around to face him. He grabs my hand and gives it a gentle kiss, "I'm sure you'll do fine, you have a wonderful personality and a beauty that glows brighter than the shine that tries so hard to light this room. What I forgot to ask, my dear, was your name." he said and I know he can see that I was nervous for my body temperature started to rise so high that the heat from my cheeks were radiating off my body hotter and faster than a gas stove.
"W-well, I'd prefer my students to call Professor Miel, but I guess you can call me Ophelia." I said to him as he steps back and gives me a gentleman's bow.
" Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love. O dear Ophelia, I am ill at these numbers; I have not art to reckon my groans: but that I love thee best, O most best, believe it. Adieu." He said to me as hands me the handkerchief from earlier and hands it to me. "I do hope to see you at the conference, but I'm sorry I must go." he said kissing my hand again as he leaves the class room, me stunned as I looked at the handkerchief to see two tickets to the convection.
I pull out my seat and stare at my hands for a few minutes before reality kicks in and my brain starts to panic. "Oh My God! This, just happened!" I grabbed my phone and start to call Meg. "Meg! Meg! You are not going to believe what just happened! Are you doing anything tonight?! Good, 'cause I just got the tickets of a lifetime!"
"No way! I can't believe this happened to you! I'm so jealous! But not as much now that we have tickets!" she squealed as we walked into the auditorium, a little bit more dressy than the rest of the visitors but it didn't matter for this was an opportunity of a lifetime. For the next fortyfive minutes of listening wonder actor, after wonderful actor it was finally the time for Tom to speak. We were so excited for this moment that we had to hold each other's hands. And there he stood before us, he gave me a wave and a wink as Meg and I listened to the rest of the night to the beautiful voice that was Tom Hiddleston. The man who had showed me more love in just a few words than any boyfriend I had in my entire life.
