A Devil's Touch
Life is never easy for anyone. There are many reason someone choices to do things...do we as people have the right to deem something good if we do evil deeds ourselves? Can we call someone a sinner if they do good deeds?
Demi smiled once she remembered that today was a Thursday. Kitten and her had to be the lucky ones who has two days off in the week. She stretched a bit and scratched her head. The memory of Edward telling her not to say good bye played through her mind most of the night. It such was random request. If thought differently she would have thought he has a crush on her. However, his childish remark made her think twice. She pulled herself from her bed and talked into the kitchen. Fetched a box of Lucky Charms, a quart of milk, a bowl and a spoon. She sat on the chair and started to serve herself.

She always loved Lucky Charms as a child. Whenever she did eat something luck y happened to her. An A on a test she did not think she did well in. A free cupcake from a parent bake sale. Something that a child would is a miracle. She skipped breakfast the day her parents died. Sometimes she wondered if she could repeat the day what she should have done. She sighed as she finished the bowl and washed it. She walked to her car and drove to the church to do her shift as the toddler day-care teacher.

When she pulled put she noticed the church was decorating for the haunted house they always did for October. She only looked at the nuns and some of the Fathers were helping set things up. She waved hello to quite a few of them and entered the church. She noticed Father Peter in the alter setting something up. He turned to notice Demi walking down the church.

“Demi, how was the meeting?” he said as he walked towards her

“We talk about where we are going to take the first photo shoot” she told the elderly man

“Good, where may I ask?”

“ Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point SP, it's not too far from here” she said “I'm a little nervous though” she told him honestly

She never did take a lot of picture during high school. Some times she regretted it very much so. Very few pictures of the last year of her parents happy lives. She should have taken pictures of them happy and smiling more she scolded herself mentally. She had thought that they were always going to be there for her. There was a lie, that she learned the hard way. She looked at the Father who seemed to be think about the state park she has just spoke to him about.

“I've heard of it. I've never been there sadly. I heard it is beautiful in fall” he said

“I hope so. I am going to be giving up one of my free days off” she laughed

“I hope so too” the elderly man chuckled

The two soon parted way and Demi walked down to the day care center. She was surprised to see the children bunched up together near the door. They had smiles on their faces the moment Demi entered the room. They all jumped up and soon attack her hugs. She fell to the ground this time. They were just so overpowering. She lifted herself up to notice the black eyes locked with her own.

“You're back” the little girl sang as she hugged her favorite day care teacher

“All you children know I only work Wednesdays and Thursdays. And since today is Thursday I'm working here” she said with a smile.
With a crowd of 'yays' filling the room all the children waited to see that Demi had assigned to them.

The day went by quickly. Demi almost felt like she did not even do much today. She looked at the watch on her waist to see what time it was. She did not want to be late to her meeting with Edward again. It would make the one who is unprofessional. She noticed it was almost time and walked over to her car and drove to the nearest bookstore. When she pulled up and walked into the store to find that Edward was drinking a cup of coffee.

“Caffeine addict” she called out

He turned his head to eye Demi. He finished his cup and quickly threw it out. She followed him wondering just what was he going to show her today. He walked into a row and took a random book. He flipped through and quickly gave it to Demi. She looked at the cover a little confused about just what was in the book.

“It's a photograph book” he said as he looked through another book as she slowly flipped from page to page

“It isn't just photos...there are quotes” she muttered

“The photographer picks the poem or quotes that match the select picture. However, that's for later. You don't have to worry about that” he said

She was silent as she looked at the picture of a girl engulf in flames. The picture did not look horrifying. In fact it look almost peaceful. There was a soft smile on her lip while her eyes shut as if shielding her from the flames. 'We are punished by our sins, not for them' by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe.

“The photo would look confusing if you understand the photographer's style” Edward said out of thin air. She looked up surprised that he was even talking. She had to control herself from panicking. She took a deep breath and nodded at this statement.

“Just what is her sin?” she asked. The question was almost to herself. However, she said it loud enough for Edward to hear the comment. He only glanced at the photo quickly.

“She killed her lover and is smiling because she is going to die with him”he said

“...I should go find my book” she said as she closed the book.

“Don't tell me I scared you?” Edward asked playful

“No, I just have to finish that book” she said as she walked out of the row.

It was not so much of what Edward had said. The quote scared her...punished by our sins. What was her punishment? Hiding for the world was not enough of a real punish for her sins. She walked into the christian of the bookstore. She looked around to find that Edward was in front of. She reached out and hit the man a bit. It only caused him to laugh a bit.

“What was that for?” he laughed

“You scared me you idiot!” she shouted

“It's not like I was planning to scare you” he laughed a bit. “What book are you looking for?” he asked her

“A book by Paulo Coelho” it was a short answer. Edward only stood there and looked at her.

“The title?” he questioned as he moved a bit towards the right.

“The Witch of Portobello” she said

When she looked up there was the book in front of her eyes. She looked at it in shock and slowly took it from Edward's hands. There was a smirk on his as the petite girl opened the book and scanned through it. She had been looking for it for months now. Now that it was finally in her hands she had something to do when she simply could not sleep.

“So why do you even want to read this novel?” Edward asked

“I heard it's a great book” she said almost to herself

“Mhm, so when you're done. I'm going to read it and see if it really is a good book. Since you suck as picking a good photograph” he said

“Reading and pictures are different” she countered

“You are wrong Demi. Writing is an art. Tis making reading an art as while. It is up to the reader to decide if it is good. Just like it is up to the human eye to see if a drawing should be saved” he said

“Oh look...I'm hanging about a smart mouth” she said as she rolled her eyes

“Smart mouth? I was just being logical” he said as he followed

“Umm...no you're being a smart mouth” she walked up the clerk who quickly scanned the book and Demi handed her the money. She turned to see that the blonde vanish in thin air. She silent as she turned back to get the book. Then she turned again there he was holding a photograph book.

“You are going to be the end of me...” Demi muttered

“I only went back to get a book. I need to study it for a while” he said as he paid for it

“Study what? It's a just book” she said

“You need to hang out with more artists” Edward replied

“Or...I stop hanging out with you” she said

“You're just cruel” he pouted
Not much after that the two walked out of the bookstore with Demi deciding what was she going to do for the rest of the day. She looked at Edward who seemed to be thinking of something. 'Mhmm...so the blonde is thinking...' she thought

“Just what do you do after have these meeting?”he asked her

“...work normally...but tonight is my night off” she said with a smile

“I see...well. Where should we go next time?” he asked her

“Geez, you sure like to hang out with me. How about somewhere to eat” she requested

“Nice fine to me...Greek” he said

“Greek...well sure why not?” she said with a laugh into the air

“We can meet tomorrow” he said

“Okay so you later Edward” she called out as he walked to his own car.

It was not until Demi opened the door when she noticed that, she honestly has nothing to do. She almost wanted to hurt herself. Just what was she going to do all night at home? She mental nagged herself as she parked the car in front of the building. She walked up tot eh apartment and closed to the door. It was just her and the flies in the apartment. She yawned a bit as she want to take a shower. As soon as she stepped out of the shower there were two messages on the answering message.

“But...I didn't hear the phone ring” she muttered to herself. She walked over and clicked on the machine to hear the messages.

“Hey Demi, it's me Roy. (And Frans) Anyways...I was just calling you to remind you, that you have work tomorrow. A lot of the men are complaining about you not being here for the last two nights. It seems they don't want the main star to take a break from the lime light. So it's just to remind you” the message ended and just like that Demi blinked.

She knew that Roy and Frans were dating. But, now the question played in her mind wondering whose house were they in. She started to laugh at the thought of the overly embarrassed Frans having sex with the sadist Roy. The thought was almost priceless. She clicked on the next message and it was Edward.

“Demi...it looks like next week Friday, I'm going to be busy with some personal issues. I'm only telling you an advance so you have something planned that day. Sorry, I can wrestle my way out of it” he said

Demi sighed...now she was really going to be bored out of her mind. She hated nights like this. She walked to the TV and turned it on hoping something on the TV was rather watching. She sighed when it seemed it just was not her night. She walked to the bed and threw the covers herself and muttered a pray. She was hoping it would be one of those nights were she would just sleep the moment she closed her eyes. Thankful for her it was one of those lucky nights.

Demi woke up and decided she was in no mood to help organizing the food cans. She thought maybe she could play with the soup kitchen. She forced herself out of her bed and muttered as she walked into the bathroom. She looked at her bag hair that covered her eyes a bit. She sighed as she walked into the shower. She felt the warm water hit her flesh as she was getting ready to start the day.

She took a towel and wrapped it around her body as she walked into the kitchen to reach for the gallon of milk. She opened it and took a sip from it as she released a sigh and placed it back into the fridge Milk always taste the best after a hot shower. She walked into her bedroom and begun to change into a dress as she combed her hair and placed a blue hairband on her head. She walked out of the door half wishing the day never started.
____________________________________________________________
“Thank you” one of the regulars said as he took his tray. She smiled back sweetly as he left to take a seat. She loved helping people. She was proud of herself to help though in need. She noticed a few teenagers helping out with the kitchen. She turned a few were blushing a bit. She knew as 'Lalita' that she was sexy. But, as normal Demi she did not feel all that special. 'It must be their hormones' she thought as she walked toward one of well-build of the bunch.

“We ran out of mash potatoes. Would you mind telling one of your friends to made a new pot?” she asked

The boy only blushed as he ran into the kitchen. There was some people waiting for food and Demi sweetly told them to wait a moment for new hot food to be cooked. The rest of the day went by smoothly. Everyone that was on the line was fed. Demi took off her hair net and looked at the blushing teens. She only smiled thinking that they had to be the oddly bunch of teens she has even laid her eyes on.

“I'll see you guy tomorrow” she said as she left the kitchen.

She got into car. She knew only one Greek restaurant in the whole town. She drove to the little cabin shaped restaurant. She stepped out of the car to see the blond photographer waiting in front of the door. She handed the keys to a valet and walked toward Edward. He was wearing the strangest sunglasses in the world.

“...maybe I don't know fashion but those sunglasses are nasty looking' she said

“I got it as a gift. I don't like them much...but everyone else. Well...everyone else but you” he laughed

“You always have to be so special I swear...” she muttered

“So I ordered a table...maybe we should go in?” Demi nodded and followed the sunglasses wearing weirdo into the cabin.

It took her but a surprise since it looked so small in the outside. She turned to see ancient looked creaks on the wall, paints of sailboats, and Greek gods. She almost thought she was in Greece. She did not notice when Edward walked her to their table. She was still at awe at the paints surrounding them. Before she noticed the waiter was already at their table.

“What would you like Miss.?” he asked in should a heavy Greek accent.

“...Oh...I'm sorry” she laughed a bit. “I would like a glass of coke” she said

“And you sir?”

“Greek Sex on The Beach” he said

As soon as the waiter left for the drinks. Demi could not help but laugh at Edward for a moment. She looked at the confused green eyed man and soon calmed herself down. She noticed he was indeed extremely confused.

“You got yourself a chick drink” she laughed

“What?” he said

“Greek Sex on The Beach screams chick drink. Are you gay or bi?” she laughed

Edward's normally bright green eyes slowly darken a bit at the comment. He opened his mouth for a moment and seemed to have forced himself to bite down his tongue. He reopened but this time the comment that left his mouth surprised Demi to the core.

“I'm the last person you would ever call 'gay' if you knew me...Demi” he said in such a tone that it caused the auburn cheeks heat up. She turned to the side and did not know when her drinks were placed in front of her.

“Are you ready to order?” the waiter asked

“I would like a gyros pita...hat about you Dems?” he asked

“'Dems?' I'll have the same as him” she answered

“Excellent...it'll be out soon” the waiter said as he left the two.

“Since when did you decide to nickname me 'Dems'?” Demi questioned

“I don't know...I like it. Besides that...what's going on in your life?” he asked

“Nothing really...the norm I guess” she said as she looked at the painting in front of her. Edward turned to see what was she looking at.

“It seems you like paintings more than you like photos” he nearly growled

“...did you just growl?” she asked

“Growl? Do I look like an animal to you?” he asked

“You sure sounded like you growl” Demi said the waiter placed the two dishes in front of the two. Edward took a bite his gyros. Demi did the same to be surprised that she honestly liked the oddly shaped sandwich. As she took a bite she noticed that Edward's eyes turned back to their normal bright green eyes. It surprised her a bit that his eyes could even darken the way they did. They soon finished eating leaving the to simple stare at the other.

“How is the girly drink treating?” Demi giggled

“Geez, are you forever going to think I'm gay?” he groaned

“I don't think you gay. You just have to be more manly” she laughed

“Thanks...I'm getting this from a girl” he sighed

Soon the waiter came and Edward asked for the check. Then a thought ran through Demi's mind. She looked at the blonde as he stood up. She stood up quickly surprising the green eyed man. He looked at her confused.

“What do you do in your spare time?” she asked

The questioned took Edward by surprised. He blinked a bit and just looked at her confused.

“...I take pictures, read, write, make videos, and walk a lot” he said

“Really? You are such an artsy person” she laughed

“Why is that a surprise to you?” he questioned

“Of course not! I just notice it was only photos. I guess I was wondering” she said innocently.

“You're a weirdo...” he said in such a strange voice

“And you are special” she answered with her eyes narrowed

“Well...how about we eat here again. I really liked the food here” he laughed

“Sure...weirdo”she said with a smiling wave.

She walked into her car and looked at the time and almost had a heart attack. It almost almost her shift at the club. She roared the car to life and sped down to the club.

There are the door was Roy and Frans eying Demi oddly. She took in a deep breath as the two of them followed after her. She knew why they were upset. She was supposed to open tonight. She walked into the dressing room to find that both Moon-dust and Cindy were dressed a staring at the normally early petite dancer.

“Where were you” Cindy asked her.

“I was at a meeting with some guy” she answered quickly as she placed her hair into a wrap. She looked at the caramel colored fairy. Moon-dust was indeed someone that would make a crowd turn. Her long black hair that reached the end of her back and dark brown eyes. She was wearing a teal and green halter dress with a satin ribbon. She also had silver heels with her costume. Her wings with a hint of teal on it.

“You're not dating someone are you?” she asked sweetly

“Me...date? Who in their right mind would date a stripper?” she said

She put on her wig. She begun to out on the heavy eyeliner and red lipstick as she walked towards the her closet. She pulled out the flapper costume she rare wore. She slipped into it and but on a black hair piece and smiled to herself. Both Cindy were dumbfounded at the transformed.

“Now...I'm ready” Lalita winked

“You better be ready...the place is filling up quickly” Frans said

“Don't worry I'm almost out” Lalita sang a bit

After Cyrus finished introducing Lalita. There stood the tiny dancer. She was posed and turned her head to the side and smile a wicked smile. She only heard a swallowing from the crowd as she turned her body. She looked at the crowd with the eyes that screamed sex. She wore a smug smirk as she walked forward and in the most huskiest voice she ask such a simple question.

“Did you guy miss me?”

“Yes” the crowd answered back.

“How can you miss little old me? Don't tell me the other girls didn't treat you men well” she pouted as she lifted her leg to slowly pull down the fishnet thigh high she was wearing. She could wear most of the men whistling as she stopped a for a moment.

“Now...do you guys like my thighs?” she questioned

Many of them roared a yes. She giggled a bit as she begun to roll down her other thigh high. She slipped out of her heels to finish talking out the stockings. She walked towards the side of the stage where the curtains were. She turned her back and with one hand begun to unzip herself.

“Do you like see my back? Don't you love the way it flexes?” she said in such a playful voice.

She then walked to the other side of the stage and lend herself forward showing out the tops of her cream colored breast. She smiled at the looks of some of the males.

“I know you want to see them...but they are a secret” she winked

She turned around and begun to unzip herself some more causing people to stare at her. She turned into a side profile and titled her head.

“I'm a naught little thing aren't I?” she giggled. She went forth to the side and too the curtain into her hand and covered herself with it. She quickly took off the dress and showed it with the crowd. She smiled as she was pulled the curtain with her into the center. She closed the curtains and the man began to roar into applause. She stepped out of the center and appeared in a naked colored suit that showed off her body. To men however it appeared as if she was naked. They roared as Lalita walked back to the changing room.

“Lalita, you always have the best the shows” Moon-dust wowed as Lalita grinned at the comment.

“I know...it's my womanly wilds that make any man go wild” she winked.

Frans signaled the fairy to take the stage. Roy only looked at Demi and took her to begin hosting for the night. Hosting was always an easy job. All she really had to do was talk to some of the guys in the audience and flirt a bit. Nothing serious unless they paid from something. She took a black corset and with black thigh highs and heels. She walked of the backdoor and smiled at the men who turned to notice her.

Moon-dust only smirked as she noticed she was losing some of the crowd. She begun to dance harder cause most of them to go back to the actions on stage. She walked to the bar and smiled when she notice it was the 'Bubble gum' in the bar. He popped yet another bubble and smirked when he noticed Lalita sitting on one of he's stools.

“What can I got you babe?” he smirked

“How about you surprise me” she laughed

She was never the drinker. But, after hanging out with 'Bubble gum' it was normal for her to have a drinks that range from the girly cocktails to the manly drinks. She looked as the bartender began to lifting five different bottles and begun to do tricks that Lalita never understood how he could be able to do those tricks.

“This my dear Lalita is called the 'Scorpion’s Tail'” 'Bubble gum' said as he handed the drink towards the auburn haired dancer.

“A cocktail tonight? It's like you want me in someone's bed” she teased as she took a sip

“You know it” he winked

As Lalita drink the cocktail a few men came up to her. They had on smirks on their faces. Lalita looked at 'Bubble gum' how only laughed as he was cleaning a glass.

“Look at the little vixen who was teasing us on the stage” the biggest said

“That's what they call me” she winked.

“Want to prove to us how you got the nickname and more...” he said in such a husky voice Lalita narrowed her eyes a bit.

“I don't do more than one customer if they want a private session. So if you guys want that I'm telling you I am not doing anything” she warned

“Come on, three or more is a party” he pleaded

“...No...” Lalita said she stood up from her stool. She felt the huge hands of the man on her shoulder as she tried to move her.

“It's one little night” he said.

Her eyes widen as she smell the whiskey in his breathe. She wrestled out of his reach and looked at 'Bubble gum' who was just smiling. She understand what was going on she shook her head and looked like she was about to scream. Just then two of the five body guards appeared around the group. With these events the other of the club stop and stared at the scene in front of them.

“That is the problem here?” the bald one said

“Hector...they wanted from than one on one” Lalita said

“What? She's a stripper she should be happy to suck on our dicks” the man countered

The comment hit Lalita hard. She was a stripper...but she had the right to say no. At least, that is what Frans, Roy, and Father Peter told her. She shut her eyes tightly and looked up for the group of laughing men who knew that the comment bothered her.

“I'm sorry you're not getting laid so that you have to paid someone. It looks like money can't buy you everything” she smirked

With that the man launch at Lalita but it was blocked by the bald man. Then another man with short brown hair begun to kick out the men for the club. The rest of the club was silent from the events that just took place. Lalita felt her cheeks red and her eyes become dangerously close to wetting. She smiled a bit.

“Well...that's what happens in a stripper club” she laughed as she walked to the back

'Bubble gum' told the second bartender to take over from him. The man nodded understanding why he was leaving and sorta happy he is getting some of the tips. 'Bubble gum' followed Lalita into the back of the dressing room to see the showgirl crying. Her make up was ruined and she did not seem to notice when 'Bubble gum' coming to her.

“Are you okay?” he asked softly

“...I hate being a stripper” she muttered through the tears.

“Hon...it's our job...we all are doing this until something better comes along” he reminded

“...Why does life have to be so hard?” she questioned

“It's a test from god...” he muttered as he bend down and hugged the crying girl.
