Batman Revolution
BATMAN REVOLUTION
An Alternate Universe, AD 2049

After his first encounter with the Joker (Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker), Terry McGinnis was baffled to find the arrival of a whole new gang of Jokerz. The gang that he had originally known had been overtaken by another group whom had actually even killed Woof and Chucko to set an example of those that tried to imitate them, claiming that following in the footsteps was an "art," and that copying him without being worthy was the true joke.

When Terry investigated these crimes, he was side-tracked by constant interruptions by battle-hungry girls, each claiming to have named themselves after a card in a deck and each calling themself a "Joker." Their names were Club "the brute", Heart "the seductress", Spade "the torturer", and Diamond "the thief". Each were lethal and far more powerful than the Jokerz before them. After surviving a battle with the group, Terry returned heavily wounded to Bruce, and further training began.

One day, an attack is made on Terry's college, each of the girls referring to an unknown boss as their "king." Dana Tan, his girlfriend, after being the victim of a previous Joker attack, steps up to the plate and expresses her hatred for the one known as "Heart," especially after the villainess attempts to seduce Terry in front of her.

Further investigation reveals to Bruce that the Joker Girlz are likely targeting Dana next, seeing as they rarely seem to have much reason for their actions as they take nothing seriously. Terry is disturbed by the news and retrieves his suit to go after his girlfriend, whom he had been planning to propose to within the week. When he arrives, the only thing he can hear is Dana screaming his name until the noise eventually dulls down to nothing.

Rather than backing down, Terry quickly mourns the death of Dana and moves on to defeat the Jokerz. A new-found anger fuels his passion, and he becomes obsessive over their demise. While soaring over Gotham's rooftops one evening, Terry spots a mysterious man in a red coat moving across the buildings with practiced reflexes. Upon following him, Terry is lead into a trap with the Jokerz, and the red-cloaked man is revealed to be "Ace," their "boss"'s right-hand man amidst the women.

The group uses cheap tactics and overwhelm him, taking him down after an extended period of time. While he's down, a black-haired man reveals himself, bearing a familiar smile. He calls himself "The Joker," and although he resembles him in his mannerisms, the new Joker has a mind all of his own. While the Joker rants on and allows his ego to swell, Terry is able to side-track them and escape. Bruce realizes that the feud between Batman and the Joker could possibly be an eternal one, just as his Joker had predicted.

After the incident, another member was recruited. He was known as "Jack," and his common sense of humor with the Joker made the King of Crime welcome him with open arms. He is jokingly referred to as Joker's "left-hand" man and takes power just below Harley.

Batman Revolution is a time-warped future where the lives of six people (the henchkids) are changed forever by Chronos whom escaped the loop Batman put him on by finding a "loophole" in his glitched situation. Instead of becoming some of the world's most renowned do-gooders, a butterfly effect is set off to forever change their future and the future of Gotham. History begins to repeat itself.

The newest Joker, referred to as "King" by the henchkids, is another mystery, just as the one before him. Bruce believes that his history/records must have been purposefully removed by someone. He is injected with the memories of the former Joker, and he truly believes himself to be him, even with the different physical and mental characteristics. They do know that rather than being dropped into a vat of acid, he has a rare skin condition.

Whoever changed his memories wanted Gotham to suffer at the hands of the Joker once more. Upon a request from King Joker, the time-traveling villain Chronos retrieved Harley from the past after she had given birth to the child that would parent Delia and Deidre and brought her to him. She was unsure of him at first, refusing to believe that he was her "puddin'," but after performing a crime together, she recognized the same tactics and mannerisms and quickly accepted him as her beloved "Mistah J." She was placed in charge of the henchkids, but Joker secretly kept Ace at his side to watch over the girls.

Chronos continued to drag villains to the future just before their retirement, significantly changing the timeline. Batman's strongest villains appeared once again as young as ever to face off with Terry. They stopped Chronos from his continuous time disruption after much damage had been done, and the returned villains could no longer be returned to previous times. When Bruce mentioned that there was a chance to return time to its normal state, Terry refused, saying that he no longer wanted to mess with the order of things.
