The Third Wheel

I had a friend named Leah and she had a boyfriend named Josh. The three of us would always go places and just have fun. Even though I did not have a boyfriend they did not make me feel like I was just tagging along at all. Leah would call me about Josh and how much she loved him, and then he would call me right after to talk to me about how much he loved Leah.
After a couple of months they started to argue over little things, like if Leah wore clothes that showed off her body too much. Every day after that I would see her on his arm wearing his basketball sweat shirt and sweat pants. It started to annoy me because Leah never let anybody tell her what to wear until she started to date Josh. I told her how I felt about it and she blew up on me like a volcano. She told me to never talk badly about Josh and that I was a horrible friend. All of a students in the class stared at me as if I was the worst person in the world.

Strike One

One night around 7:30pm Josh called me. He started to explain why he made Leah cover up. Josh told me that he did not want to have a girlfriend who looked like a slut. As soon as he said that the blood rushed to my head and I told him to stay away from Leah. Josh laughed as if I was a joke and hung up. A fire started to burn inside of me and I found myself wanting to kill Josh.


The Last Straw


One day I saw Leah and Josh in the hallway arguing. Leah was wearing a short skirt and high heels. Josh was in her face as if he was going to hit her. He was pointing his finger in her face telling her to change her clothes. Leah yelled back, telling him how it was her life and if she wanted to wear short skirts she will. Right after she said that he slapped her across the face, a noise that made my heart stop. I suddenly lost the ability to control myself and I attacked him, tackling him to the floor and punching him in the face. Leah looked at me as if I was God coming to save her.


Kiss and Make Up


Leah and I were like peas and carrots again. We did everything that we used to do before she met Josh. It felt good beating Josh up but in the end I did not gain anything. Scratch that! I gained a suspension for a week because of that jerk. I did feel kind of bad because I am not the type of person who uses violence as the answer. So I did the right thing and I apologized to Josh when I saw him in the hall. The fire started to burn again but I held all of my anger in and got it over with. Josh realized that he had a problem and he got some help. In the end everybody was ok.
He’s Back
“What!” I screamed
“Yes Asia, Josh and I are back together.” Leah said with a smile on her face.
“Are you out of your mind, Leah!” I said out of aggravation.
That’s right, Josh and Leah were back together again. Even though we don’t talk anymore it makes me sick to my stomach every time I see her in clothes that Josh wants her to wear. After all that he did to her she still took him back and changed who she was. I still feel like going after Josh with an axe.
“You should be happy for me Asia. I thought that you were my best friend.” Leah said softly, the last time that we spoke.
When she said that my heart started to break even though I knew that I was right.
