The Prince of Sleep

Wandering silently, the light beckoned the little ones to follow its bobbing course. Mentally, he knew that with every step they took they grew wearier. But on he strode, his journey not yet complete. Oh, but how his sorrow became evident as he glanced back and physically witnessed the company he had collected.
Contemplation struck him, shall I allow them the peace of dreams, or continue this neverending, fruitless search? Humanity gripped the prince in its throes, "Alas, I can bear this sight no longer," he sighed. "Come to me my friends. Know the bliss of sleep, the release of dreams. Enjoy the fruits of my gift for a spell. There is still a long way yet to go..."
