Dark Poetry
I AM

I watch blankly as the rain falls gracefully
I am alone, like a forgotten grave
I can only hear his voice in the moon and the stars
This is what makes the loneliness dwell within

I see the small puddles form slowly in the green yard
I am sorrowful, like a new widow
He calls to me but I can never have him
For he is not mine to have forever in eternity

I hear the thunder rumbling ferociously at the wind
I am scared, like a human nearing afterlife
He now speaks, I listen
His voice is like a beautiful song bird, calling to me

I stand slowly from my window sill in my dark room
I am changed, like a caterpillar now a butterfly
He reaches out to take my pale white hands in his
I grasp them gently and he takes me to be his

I stare into his dark caramel eyes and smile sweetly
I am re-born, like a child once dead
He stares into my now brightened emerald eyes
He was once my nothing, my want, my need, I have him

I lean up to kiss his thin, pale lips lightly
I am taken, like a new bride
He catches my lips on his and holds me ever so gently
I fall into true love

The kiss is now deep as his lips move to my neck
I am passionate, like a first time lover
I feel my flash being broken, I choke back a scream
Then it was over, I’m now his for eternity

He tells me not to fright, for I am his new love
I am loved, like a new flower
I re-kiss his silk lips and he takes me up in his arms
I am carried to a new life, a new love

I feel the rain and the puddles, I am not effected
For I now have hope
I have gotten my love, and he wants me back
I now hear his voice whispering sweetly in my ear

He has taken my fear away like it never did exist
But only did he replace it with courage
For I am now changed
I am me and not in a mask, I am true
