The cloud of one's breath floated in the moist, cold, dead air. Not so much as the sound of the heavy rain filling the empty void. It was in the middle of the night that it had just started to rain and it lulled many into becoming awake, and others to sleep. It was remarkable how there could be a world so quiet sometimes, when it was filled with nothing but sound and beckoning of humanity. Not a soul dared to disturb the world in it's own slumber, not one. Or perhaps .. not one, but two.
Elizabeth Oderschvank had woken up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep with the upbringing of her .. souless father returning to his familgia. She feared for her familiga that without her there she would not be able to defend them like she did those many years ago. How could such a man even do such an act as he did ? and how could their mother, their birthgiver, do nothing but watch !? Eli was very troubled by this. She didn't know what he was still capable of, what he would do to hsi children, even so, now that they were grown. AL she didn't hold concern for but .. of JV and DC.
They were the youngest siblings of course and they had not inherited their fathers Endbringer abilities like she and Al had. They were simply humans with little to none experience in combat. Quietly lifting herself from her bed side, she pulled on a long robe over her white tanktop and her long baggy black pants. Tying the robe in a loose knot she had assured herself it wouldn't come undone. She looked back at her husband Vergil, who was still sleeping soundly surprisingly enough, and she couldn't help but smile.
She had married a stubborn, and angering man. But she couldn't help but love him dearly. She had always thought she would marry Agito, her previous lover but .. she was left behind and she felt like love would never come back to her again after him. Then came along Vergil, who she thought she'd end up putting a bullet through his head one of these days but, instead, she had learned to love him aswell. Along with his oh so loving family.
Traveling down the hallway in creeps, she had opened the door to her daughter Odette's room and peeked inside. She found her sleeping soundly in her bed, and when she traveled to her son's room, she had found the same. She walked downstairs and and found a candle and lit it with a match she dug out from a drawer in the counter. Placing it on the island, she found some cold tea that was hot .. about three or four hours ago. She poured it in a cup and then shoved it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it up again.
While she waited, she folded her arms under her breasts and looked out the window lazily, seeing the rain fall against the window. When the microwave had stopped and went off she pulled the tea from the inside, shut the door, and began to drink. Her bright fluorescent silver hues traveled back to the window and this time saw a face peering through her window. Gasping she choked lightly on her tea and did everything she could not to drop it but failed to do so miserably. The cup had hit impact with the floor and shattered on her foot, causing her to lean protectively against the counter and hold her shoulders, watching the window.
No more face staring back at her.
Breathing in and out heavily she let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding. " What's the matter ? " Turning her head to the familiar voice, Vergil was already at the bottom of the stairs hearing the noise. " Nothing I just .. dropped the cup .. that's all " Feeling idiotic like she always did around her husband, she looked at her feet and tied her fingers together nervously. Vergil quirked a brow at his wife and sighed lightly, walking over to be sure his wife didn't hurt herself. " You should rest, you don't seem to be getting enough of that lately, Elizabeth " Vergil said in a serious tone, picking up the shattered pieces of the cup carefully around her feet.
Elizabeth had dropped to her knee's and helped her husband pick up the small shards on the ground. He didn't need the help, but he knew Eli was only trying to clean up her mess. She was so fragile as of late .. which put a strain on his thoughts and his relationship with her .. He didn't favor it one bit, and neither did he for this father of her's. Once the couple had joined their pieces of the cup, Vergil threw away the trash and looked back towards his wife. " Rest .. now. " He commanded. Elizabeth shook her head and looked back up to Vergil, " I will .. just, give me a few by myself .. please ? " Elizabeth pleaded to her husband.
The sparda child had not believed this would be just a simple few minutes as she so called it, but he pretended to believe for her sake. " Alright .. " Giving a reassuring kiss to the forehead, Vergil retired to his bedroom to try and get some sleep. Elizabeth had taken a wet rag and got on her knee's again, wiping up the tea so as not to attract sugar ants in which Odette took a liking to stomp on and create a mess of dead bugs on the floor. A small brush of wind grazed her cheek and she shuddered, looking over her shoulder to see if a window was cracked or something; How she pleaded she was wrong about the matter. Nothing.
Feeling overly paranoid, the woman stood up and squeezed the rag, the brown hazel liquid dumping out into the sink. She washed the rag and then laid it out to dry on the counter, her hand grazing over the counter top. She was happy ouf course to have her family .. she loved every moment of it, from watching her Brother - in - law argue with her husband, to Her siblings always laughing and playing with the kids. It was a peaceful life none the less .. something she was happy to live as long as she has with, something she .. felt she would never have. She was still a stray dog and she had dragged a lot of hell behind her but ..
The moist feel of a huff of breath hit the back of Elizabeth's neck, making the hairs stand up on the ends.
She had quickly turned around, only to find a hand shoving it's way into her mouth and grabbing her tongue, gagging lightly as she was pressed tightly against the counter, hands searching for grip as not to have her back broken against a counter top. " Ssh .. no need to be so .. afraid it's only your dear beloved father, dear " A almost satanic lulling voice erupted from a man's vocal chords. A small pained tear came from the corner or Eli's eye, A finger pushing the salty tear away, the black haired demon man, the father of the Oderschvank had smiled deviously. " I simply can't .. let you go on suffering like you are now .. " Elizabeth's eye's stared into a pair of cat like topaz hues. " Not without taking back .. the life you stole .. you would be disgusted with yourself .. So beautiful and so .. dazzling you've grown up to be a true woman indeed, your mother's spitting image almost .. it pains me to watch you .. live ~ " His free hand had grabbed around Elizabeth's neck in a tight grip, Eli powerless under her father's monstrous aura.
Whimpering lightly, she only hoped Vergil would wake up and come to her rescue or better, shake her up from the nightmare she was having. Her jugular felt strained and her lungs were deprived from air and all together, her father was draining her life force like a demon would. He had smiled that dazzling charming smile, one that Eli matched easily. Vision blurring, Elizabeth was slipping silently, her father pecked her forehead lovingly. " Don't cry my dear .. it'll be over soon .. trust me, it was never my intention " Prinz Oderschvank let a small chuckle escape his lips. Elizabeth had silently faded, her hands clawing at the counter as she slipped and her father slowly let her, choking her lethally. Shushing his daughter into her eternal death, he wished her good bye,
Never was it my intention to put down a stray
