Background Description

Mitchell Heinz, flash back 12 years and you see a shining example of justice, An officer of the law fresh out of the academy brimming with youth and vigor. Looking on his weathered and broken exterior now one would never guess that this husk was once so promising. How does something like this happen you ask? How does a man go from thriving to wallowing in the gutters? Simple, a woman.

Enter stage right, Sarah Hunt. A sparkling young woman fresh from school and eager to travel the world, and meet new people. What a tragic tale she could have had, her fist travels brought her to "The Epitome" the dead end bar of dead end bars. There she met Lucas Wright, a b*****d but a business man. He promised her money and fun and all she had to do was dance twice a week.

She gladly excepted knowing just how badly she needed the work, and for months she danced and smiled until one night it wasn't enough, one night Lucas threw her in a room and locked the door. She was his from then on, "servicing" any one Lucas liked to call a "vip". Now at this point Mitchell is on his first assignment, vice.

Mitchell had one task, make sure all the clubs and bars that had dancers, only served dancing. His first bar was "The Epitome" a place officers joked about constantly, if they were ever low on a quota all they had to do was walk in and they'd be done for a month. It was true. The only reason it was still in business was the constant bribes. Unfortunately for Mitchell, no one gave him the memo.

He walked in and was appalled to see, in plain view of the entrance no less, a young beautiful blonde tied to a table crying her eyes out as a crowd of men huddled around. Furious he yelled the cliché, "Stop, police!" They all stopped and turned, let out a laugh and turned back. Mitchell new and gung-ho charged in wresting two men far larger than himself to the ground.

He had only just managed to cuff the both of them when a white hot pain erupted in the back of his head. On the brink of consciousness he turned to face his attacker only to find his partner holding the splintered remains of a chair above him. He woke up to find a note pinned to his chest and laying next to the blonde he had failed to save earlier.

The note read this plain and simple, "Don't show up tomorrow, you're fired." The girl was huddled next to him beaten and bloodied, in far worse shape than him. He carefully picked her up, fighting his own spinning head and carried her back to his beaten down apartment. They lived together for a time, he got a job as a night guard to pay for her. And, after several years and tens of thousands of dollars worth of counseling they were married.

They were happy at first, they had a child and loved each other very much but one day Sarah woke up and new she no longer loved Mitchell, in fact she never loved him. Her psychologist called it something but she couldn't remember, the trauma of their first meeting had bonded them and over time that bond faded.

She tried to explain to Mitchell, tried to make him understand there was nothing he could do. He never believed, never got over her and fell into alcohol to fix the pain. He was fired from his night guard job for showing up and leaving drunk every night. His son took his mother's name, and he found himself worse than before, eventually showing up at the bar that started it all. "The Epitome" Lucas just laughed knowing that sooner or later all drunken bastards ended up here sometime. He was more than happy to revel in Mitchell's suffering.

He rented a crappy building in the worst part of town with what little money he had left, and used the only skills he had to become the worst detective in Denver, barely making enough to live on, his tab at "The Epitome" grew, week by week, month by month, until all he had was debt. Faced with the thought of death by lucas he had but one option, one he hated more than any other. He begged Sarah for help, seeing how pitiful he was she refused, knowing it would bring nothing but trouble, a trouble she had long since forgotten, her way.

With what little rage he had left he stormed away, making a vow to prove her wrong, prove the world wrong. Of course...It's never that easy, now is it?

Personality: Appears constantly stressed, as such is very twitchy and paranoid. Generally agreeable and willing to over look most insults, has a pathetic temper however so he rarely has out bursts. He would rather drink away a problem than deal with it.

Occupation: Private Detective
Family: A son, Richard Hunt. And an Ex-Wife Sarah Hunt
Adversaries: Lucas Wright, owner of his favorite bar "The Epitome" has it in for him over a several thousand dollar bar tab.
Habits: He has several nervous ticks, such as messing with his hair and smoking despite his instance that he has quit.
Likes: cats, cigarettes, cheap booze, easy cases.
Dislikes: rain, children, candy
