The name of my play:The Asylum
Introduction:As you come to in your new home, you hear a soft, sweet voice in your head. "Welcome, my dear, to The Asylum. This is your home now. There is no escape. Please enjoy your stay. I promise you, you will never forget it...." The message ends with a melodic laugh. You bolt up in your bed, looking around franticly. You can't remember anything. Well, almost anything. Thee only thing that you remember is your name, how old you are, your race, and your last nightmare. The room you are in is painted white. The bed you lay in is twin sized, with wrought iron head and foot rails. The covers are a pale baby blue, and that, a night stand and a dresser are the only funiture in the room. There are two doors; one leads to a white bath room with a toliet, sink and bath/shower, and the other one leads out of your room....Infromaion:You are now in
The Asylum. Like most new comers, you are in the First Ward. Here, everything is more or less normal. The inmates are normal; their minds haven't been Burned yet. It looks like a regular home, with a kitchen, rooms, media room, dining room, and a back yard. As well, the building has an indoor gym and swimming pool. In the media room, there is a pool table, stereo system, TV with VCR and DVD player, and lounge chairs, couches, etc. The back yard is fenced in with twelve foot high electrical fences. Rumor has it that spirts guard the fence. The back yard is about two acres big, with walkways, a rose garden, and a wishing fountin in the middle. Yes, there are trees, but they are more so in the center, away from the fences, incase someone were to try to use them to escape. In your rooms, you will find a Dream Catcher on your nightstand. You can wear it as a necklace; its that small. If you sleep without this on you, the Inmates from Third Ward will sift into your dreams, and Burn your mind, turning you into one of them. Inmates from Third Ward are on the third floor. The Inmates in Second Ward, on the second floor, are still some-what normal. They just have some serious mental problems. They fell asleep without their Dream Catcher, but were mentally strong enough to fight them off. But, not without some damage. They see things, evil things. They roam their Ward, talking to themselves, or their 'friends', images they see. Sometimes they slip past their guards and wander down to the first floor. If you seem them, either kill them, or run. Because if you don't, they will kill you. To them, you are something evil that will steal away the rest of their minds, and for that, you must die.... The Inmates from Third Ward rarely slip down past the second floor. If you see
them, run to the back yard. There is a spell around it that prevents them from leaving the house. If this happens, either the Mistress herself, or her own personal guards will take care of them.
The Inmates:The Nurses:
The Nurses used to be real nurses here at The Asylum. But being around those kind of minds for so long, well, something started to happen. They started to change, act different. Instead of helping the clients, they started to hurt them. The Mistress had to lock them away in Third Ward. They had started to beat the clients, and tear, rip, cut, saw, you name it, their limbs off, and eat the entrails and what not.
Predators:Mistress isn't sure where these came from, probably from one of the recent dreams a now-Second Ward Inmate had. They like to play Hide-and-go-Kill with their prey, chasing it, playing with them. Once they catch them, they use their pointed tongue to stab their heart and eat it. They usually leave the corpse to rot after that.
The Beast:These are giant fire demons that the Mistress has summoned. At one point, they were guards for the other Inmates in Third Ward, but they started to get Burned, too. Mistress isn't exactly sure what they do, but they are dangerous and cannot be trusted.
The Nightmare:This, is The Nightmare. He is the worst of them all.... Instead of killing you himself, as the others like to do, he gets into your mind and stays there, Burning it slowly, making you go insane. He uses your worst fears, all your nightmares, against you, tormenting you endlessly....
Your protection:The only things that can protect you in here, are any weapons you happen to have, a very strong mind, any powers your race possesses, and the Dream Catcher.
The Dream Catcher:The Dream Catcher was made and charmed by the Mistress. Where it when you sleep, and it protects your mind from the Inmates on the third floor, made so your dreams are protected and they cannot harm you. Fall asleep without it, though, and you are exposed, and only have a 3% chance of waking up un-Burned....
